You gotta love this kind of thinking.degruch wrote:+2...way too early to make a call like that. Maccattack may have carved up Special K many moons ago, but one's had 1.5 seasons head start on the other. I'd expect it'll be a good match up, definately in their favour...but Gardiner should push the equation back into our favour.Marcus1232 wrote:+1saintly wrote:thats not totally fair. kruzer has played 25-30 games McEvoy has played 3 games.bobmurray wrote:McEvoy v Kruezer..
No.1 draft pick v No.9 draft pick in the 2007 National Draft...
A chance to compare the difference between the 2 lads and see why they were drafted in the top 10 and who is up to it and who isn't.....
PS: Pick #1 v #9 2007 isn't a straight comparison either...you're actually talking #1 draft ruck pick v #2 draft ruck pick. As we all know, there are many factors involving a clubs preference to one player over another, not all of them being playing ability...there's rarely anything splitting top #10 draft picks.
Everyone saying its not fair to compare McEvoy to Kruezer
Both in the same draft, both in the same u18 comps
Do you want to explain to me what Ben has been doing for the last 1.5yrs, sitting on the couch playing PS3?
This is exactly the type of game champions look forward to
TO come up against an arch rival nemesis and beat him.
This is it Ben, no more waiting.

Playing in the ressies. And yes, I do love my line of thinking...in fact, I rule for being so informed.sunsaint wrote:You gotta love this kind of thinking.degruch wrote:

Anyway, I hope he smashes Special K, it'd be awesome if he did, considering the head start his opponent has. At this stage it's unlikely, but not impossible at all.

Kreuzer's not that quick. Agile yes, but he's not going to burn McEvoy. Even if he does, he's a ruckman. Do you really think Carlton's going to look to a big man to move the ball? They'll be trying to get the ball in the hands of Gibbs, Murphy and Judd - not Kreuzer.send out the runner wrote:Kruezer too nimble for big mac...
I really doubt that Ben is going to be overawed by Kreuzer's experience.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

That's all I could find on the actual game. Both were named in the bests, but McEvoy was named first for Country. Metro won the game easily though.

I found out a lot about Ben by reading Emma Quayle's "The Draft". Worth a look for serious football followers and even better considering one of the Saints is a "star" of it.
He sets very high standards for himself, and others, is a deep thinker of the game and will relish the challenge.
Kreuzer to Forward line? Who cares, gotta get there first and as for calling him Special K, give me a break, I don't have nicknames for other team's players...I won't even call Franklin "Buddy" stick with Lance - I am sure he would hate having such a limp name!

So...got anything to add? 1.5 years playing experience between 'em is a lifetime. Fromt hat I saw, Big Mac was good around the ground, but only 19, only 3 games under his belt, there's a mile of improvement to come to make him competitive in the ruck. He'll be better for the hitouts over the next couple weeks, but there were some lofty expectation in this thread, that's for sure!sunsaint wrote:You gotta love this kind of thinking.degruch wrote:+2...way too early to make a call like that.
