With Max back the best defence just got better.
Always takes a big name... big or small...and rarely beaten.
Went very close to AA last year in what was probably his last chance given that old father time is catching up with him and this year is half over already.
Looking forward to many goalless quarters by the opposition with him leading the way from the back.

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Despite the love for Max, i actually thought he was poor today...
First game back, so he has room to move, but he'd want to improve on todays performance...
IMO Zac is now way ahead of him in our backline structure and importance... As are Chips and Gilbo, maybe even Blake...
It may be hard for him to keep his spot...

I can only assume this is sarcasm. Nobody could say these things seriously. Could they?Sobraz wrote:Despite the love for Max, i actually thought he was poor today...

mixed bag of thoughts from mesaintly wrote:so how was max playing?
did some nice defensive work but his game was marred a little by 3 or so pretty un-Max like fumbles, a couple costly
Having said that, I guess he can be excused for having been out for so long> and the majority view would be "he will be better with the run under his belt " What remains to be seen to my mind however, is if and when he can get back to or at least near his best.
i hope he will , and there's a fair way to go till that business end we are all anticipating, so he remains, by and large, as does the team itself , "a work in progress"
With the prospect of Gilbo returning this week , the selectors will have their work cut out deciding our options in defence though
