Raph Clarke
Well, his omission will open up one slot in the team.
I thought his game was shocking - mistake after mistake, and he didn't get that much of the ball.

Yeah, im a big fan of Clarke, but this performance was shocking! Will not be surprised if we dont see his name on the list next week...battye wrote:Well, his omission will open up one slot in the team.

Haven't seen it MAgic, bu twas listening. Commentators said that Dunn was going very well for the Dees in the first quarter and was a strong avenue in attack whilst Raph was his opponent. Zac was moved onto him and he quietened him down according to ABC radio.Mr Magic wrote:His opponent didn't do much but Raph looked slow, indecisive and lacking confidence.
I'm not sure why he would lack confidence?
On the performance tonight I think his position in the team next week is in jeopardy.
I think his position on our list next year is in jeopardy. I so wanted him to come out of the blocks firing, however, it was not to be the case. Just wish he could have shown the same form he had in the finals last year. He was one of our best during the '08 finals series.Mr Magic wrote:His opponent didn't do much but Raph looked slow, indecisive and lacking confidence.

I think its more the fact that hes over confident & thinks he can do what he wants when he choses to ,but unfortunatley he carnt . This is not a new thing, strung a few serviceable games in the finals last year & everyone thought he was on track for a big year in 2009. The guy doesent work hard enough at training nether lone in a game situation. He is his own worst enemy.Has plenty of talent but too busy doing what Raph wants to do but not what the team needs.Same ol same ol lets bring in someone that is willing to do what the team wants not some half hearted crap that he has delivered in the last 5 years.Sorry bit harsh but on the moneyMr Magic wrote:His opponent didn't do much but Raph looked slow, indecisive and lacking confidence.

Thanks for the heads up Ross about Raph being over confident and not working hard enough at training and also that he is too busy doing what he wants to dosaintly_safes wrote:I think its more the fact that hes over confident & thinks he can do what he wants when he choses to ,but unfortunatley he carnt . The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
Second half was much better when he started pushing further up the ground...
He's not a defenders a###hole...
I am a huge fan, but his first half was horrible... Beaten one on one many times and made poor skill errors... I dont know why he was played as a key back by Ross... Not too sure what Blake's possie was, but he is a much better matchup for those Raph played on...
In the third and fourth qtrs, he was much better when he could create moving toward the forward 50, and be an offensive mover...
I dont think he'll be dropped...

not a great match up for him down back, not sure where blake is at present. Almost like we select blake for flexibility sake. Raph looks more comfortable when playing off his man or workin up in traffic where he can make the play.

Bad 1st half. Put handballs at peoples feet, and dropped one creating a goal the other way. Only upside was noticed him on replay a few times being the man from behind to put in a spoil and in one case a tackle on Baker's man.
Not very good, and exactly the kind of play that incites his weekly tribute threads.
His second half was alright. I find I actually like him as a guy to put the ball inside 50. Picked up an assist without doing anything overly frustrating.
I suspect from how quick he was to unload some of those handballs that he's short on confidence at the moment. Wonder if he's been brought back in too soon - ironic in the Saints selections for 09!

Carrara is as big as the MCG. Raph was absolutely crappola tonight. He cannot be defended on the performance he put in tonightDevilhead wrote:He was playing on Bate
Either way he wasn't alone tonight he had lots of friends
2nd game back probably still a bit rusty and will improve with game time
Is suspectible under pressure and could well be an MCG specialist where he has loads of space to move in
Another opportunity awaits!

On the basis of the idiot comments here Hayes should be dropped and never return.
Why?
Because when the ball fell to the favour of a Melbourne player between Hayes and Clarke, and the Melbourne player took off with the pill it was Raph who gave chase - Lenny dropped off the chase.
So on the basis of what you idiots (racist no doubt because the same names bag X. Clarke calling for him to be de-listed and bag Gwilt - funny about that) put here on Clarke, Hayes should go before Clarke because Clarke is by far a quicker player than Hayes who did not even chase.
I would suggest that R. Clarke was a long way from our worst performer tonight.
And he was not the only one who had disposal clangers in the conditions - which also included Melbourne playing with one player forward to contain the scoreboard damage.
No doubt their tactics resulted in them only kicking 6 goals (2 after quarter time) but our defence also did its bit in achieving that outcome.
Can you know alls name one St Kilda player who did NOT turn the ball over tonight?
Perhaps we should consign the Captain to the VFL for missing that left foot shot from 10 metres?
