What's Bally's contract status?
Interesting little article in Gold Coast paper today (see end of below). I wouldn't think Luke would be keen to go anywhere...
FROM SAINT to Sinner? It will be interesting to see the Gold Coast crowd reaction to St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt tonight at Carrara.
There is no doubting the former Gold Coaster is still a warm favourite here, but having just turned his back on the tourist strip to stay in Melbourne may spark some reaction from the locals when the Saints clash with Melbourne .
St Nick was seen as the ideal marquee player/captain for the GCFC's foray into the AFL in 2011, having played junior footy here, been part of a Southport Sharks premiership team and gone on to become one of the code's leading players.
However last week he signed on with the Saints until the end of 2013.
Little whisper though that not all Saints are a lost cause. Give a special cheer for flashy young midfielder Luke Ball.

The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

And his uncle played for St.KildaEastern wrote:Bally goes to Uni in Melbourne, his family & friends are in Melbourne, St Kilda FC is in Melbourne, his grandfather played for St Kilda.
My guess is that he will sign a NEW 2 or 3 year contract extention before the end of this season !!
Another opportunity awaits!
His grandfather played? I thought there was a grandfather-grandson rule in place in the AFL? Or is it only father-son?Eastern wrote:Bally goes to Uni in Melbourne, his family & friends are in Melbourne, St Kilda FC is in Melbourne, his grandfather played for St Kilda.

I have a feeling he's at Monash, cos I've seen pictures of him in me diary and on the monash student site thingo.Gabba wrote:Just out of interest, what course is Bally doing at which uni? I know he got a really good ENTER but that's about it.
Not sure what course he's doing, nor whether he'd still be at uni? He did finish his VCE in 2002 I think? Although he'd be doing it part time wouldnt he, so course would obviously be longer than usual.

If he is doing commerce he will follow the money!!
Doesn't matter who his rello's played for, what Uni he is at, where his parents live blah blah, if the lure to GC was enough, most players would go...real reason to stay in Melb? Win a premiership, one club player.
