Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

To be able to be alerted more easily that you have a personal message you should allow pop ups...
This can be done by
1. going to your profile on saintsational and make sure you tick yes to Notify on new Private Message
2. make sure that whatever you use to surf the web (internet explorer, firefox or whatever) allows pop ups.
With FireFox, you need to go to tools, then options, then content and unclick "block pop up windows".
With Internet Explorer, go to tools, Pop-Up Blocker and then turn off Pop-up Blocker.
If anyone does not wish to do this, they need to check the message area below the sponsored players, to make sure there are no messages.
I would suggest that if you choose to allow pop-ups, you only do it for select sites. Allowing pop-ups fully can have you viewing some pretty off material.
