Did anybody else hear an advertorial on SEN (Hungry for Sport) this morning where KB announced that Nathan Brown and Ben Cosins would be at Rebel @ Highpoint tonight between 6-7pm?
The intereting thing to me, and maybe I misheard it?, was he seemed to say that if you bought a Tigers jumper you would also get free of charge a Richmond 11 game Junior Membership Ticket.
If what I heard is accurate is this just another way to make these membership totals meaningless statistics?
I repeat my observation that the only really meainingful figure is the total $ membership sales brings in and not the total # of memberships sold/given away.

and agree
But am in the process of donating some kids memberships myself
all helps and if it gets kids to support the Saints worth a try.

I'm not downplaying the worth of geting kids involved, just trying to point out the futility in comparing membership totals between Clubs when nobody has any idea what type of memberships are being included by the individual Clubs in their totals.saintbrat wrote:I heard that ad last week too

Would be interesting to know how many more have done the same ??
What is the cap on Social Club and is there any way of knowing what the numbers are ?
cap last year was 8,000 and to my knowledge we never got close-

Plus the increase in the Social Club Membership....Legendary wrote:I dare say the club would have budgeted for 30,500 members ... so if we can get 1000-1500 ahead of that, then it's an extra $150k in the club's pocket.
Should hopefully help offset some of the costs of playing at Etihad.
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

I think they budgeted for even less members than 30k.
I'm pretty sure that the uptake of Social CLub Memberships to retain Lvl2 reserved seats has actually been better than they expected.
I also think that on the other side of the equation they didn't expect EataTurd Stadium to do what they've done this year re 'stadium deals' and would have budgeted to make more money from game attendances than what they're actually receiving/paying.
I think there may well be a conversation between all the tennant CLubs and the AFL at the end of the year re compensation over the 'fight'.

Last year we had around 8,500 Social Club members so if we reach the 11,000 cap you're looking at another $300,000 into the clubs coffers.
I know it's presumptuous but if the club were to do some more advertising before the June 30 membership deadline and make a point of emphasising the access to finals tickets it might sell a few more as well.
I still think it's a disappointing figure and it's taken a record equalling start to the season to get it up to where it is today.

i would assume it would depend if people are buying the $55 membership (3 games) or the $170Legendary wrote:I dare say the club would have budgeted for 30,500 members ... so if we can get 1000-1500 ahead of that, then it's an extra $150k in the club's pocket.
