Frank Costa gives Saints president and club a wrap.

Post: # 736157Post joffaboy »

Frank Costa the Geelong president was on SEN this afternoon and was interviewed on a number of things.

The last question was something like - "Which other President has impressed you the most over the past couple of years?"

Costa's reply was Greg Westaway. He said that Westaway was quietly spoken and hadn't come in to the presidents meetings throwing his wieght around - instead asked pertinent questions and learnt what being an AFL football club president was all about.

Also said that under the new admin the Saints now have stability with the admin and the footy dept all pulling in the one direction. Said that the club always had the list but never the stability and one direction.

Now Frank Costa is a president of a rival club - but has been about for a considerable time and knows the president caper pretty well. I dont know Costa personally but from what I have heard over the years he seems a pretty knowledgable bloke whose opinion I tend to respect when it comes to football.

So there you have it. Thought it was a pretty big wrap for Westaway and the direction of the club from an outsider in the know re footy clubs.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

No but you can download them......its everyhwere...see the Warnambool developer on the news last year...

Westaway sought Costa's advice early on and has acted on it when he said Lyon was here for long haul. Its nice to see. I actually dont mind the pres saying less in the media BUT IMHO Greg still needs to learn there are times the club needs a pres to speak out.......

I quite like him in this interview - very humble and seems to know what his doing, though I must admit I know very little of him...

You donate $10,000 to the ALP and they arrange for your local council to give your club $1,000,000 of rate payers money.

Wasn't his fruit company involved in a 'commissions scam' with Coles Supermarkets some years ago?

Of course Costa doesn't like a bloke who will throw his weight around...

Why would he want that?
