Bullants blowing it out to half time 59-30.
And that's the half time score.
Anyone know how the excitement machine Choo Choo went in the reserves?

Is Smith even playingfalka wrote:Thought Steven was hard at it the whole quarter, he is the best young midfielder (from the last 2 drafts) that we have. Remember, he is only 18/19. Better prospect than Armo
Stanley impressive, just doesn't have the baulk
Looking forward to Smith getting a good go in the 2nd half.

Raph Clarke and McEvoy both held back as emergencies for St Kilda.
Sandy seems to have a lot of players trying to get easy possessions playing ring a ring a rosy at 60 metres out.
Opposition defenders at 40 metres out know you are no threat if you are calling for the ball at 60 metres out, just providing a chance for an interception.
It takes a bit of courage to run inside 50 and then call for the ball.
Also the kickers are not confident of hitting the target and for good reason, the passes at 60 metres out are worthy of the liittle league.
Lazy forwards except for Maguire are not presenting or working hard enough to keep the ball in.

Jeepers it's an ordinary game. The skills are woeful, the umpiring worse, the ground is a dung heap and the commentators are crap.
- Armitage looks ok but honesty he should be ripping the game to shreds.
- Heyne looks like he'll be a player - seems to have the skill and pace at least.
- Steven does some good thing but whether he's fast enough for the big league is doubtful.
- Howard always looks to be chasing someone with the ball - rarely does he have it.
- Lynch presents hard and looks likely.
- Goose mustn't be far off.
I'm surprised at the skill level and hunger of some of these blokes. They looks miles off the senior team at the moment. That goes for both teams at least.

- Maguire's playing very well IMO. Just kicked his 3rd game for the 1/4 in the 3rd and playing a lone hand up forward. Presenting very well and kicking straight.
Looks really good. I think he's no longer playing for fitness, but now trying to get himself into the team
-Armitage: To me doesn't look up to it (today at least), not playing direct football at all. No major influence on the game.
- Howard, some1 said he's been chasing the ball all day... that's about right.
- Stanley looks good. Done a few nice things... IMO will keep his spot on the rookie list, then if he progresses like he is now, will be promoted.
- Miles has done the odd nice thing
Haven't really noticed ne1 else

Good quarter by the Goose.
I think he's on about 19 touches, 4 goals and 10 marks to 3/4 time.
Armitage has looked lazy, seems like he is allowing the quality of the match to bring him down to it's level, he has also been frustrated with the lack of running by his team mates.
Begley is a competitor who can read the play well but his ball use will hold him back.
Miles is still a bit off IMO.
I would hope that Howard will not be at the club next year.
Eljay can battle out of his weight group but is still so far away it's not even funny.
Steven is all class.
Maguire could eb the third tall forward we've been looking for, he has been marking everything and his kicking at goal has been beautiful.

Saw SMith was named at start of the broadcast, obviously not playing.
My other observations.
Armo - Just doesnt do enough
Heyne - very disappointing, I know many on here have raps for him, but gee, I don't see it
Begley is OK, but skills at times poor
Lynch - Bad day for forwards, but for pick 13, doesn't inspire me.
Stanley - great prospect, his movement for a big guy is impressive.
Steven - I like him, but his intensity is up and down.
Miles, does a good thing, but then looks shithouse
Connors, another decade in the Gym
HArd game to watch,

Stanley is on the senior list, he was our first third round pick in last years draft and out second pick overall.skeptic wrote: - Stanley looks good. Done a few nice things... IMO will keep his spot on the rookie list, then if he progresses like he is now, will be promoted.
I think he has been OK without being spectacular, good signs for a first year player though.
If Goose can kick a goal or two in the last quarter I think he could be an inclusion next week.

Disappointing result.
Goose Best on for the zebras.
Steven improved late as did Armitage.
Connors, Smith and Howard were almost unsited.
Begley was terrible.
Miles was very good, seems to be a gun at that level, not so sure he can step up to the AFL...

Sandy much better in second half but did not deserve to win due to first half.
Improvement was going DIRECT inside 50 by running or kicking.
I blame the coach, heard him at quarter time encouraging them to continue being patient = playing ring a ring a rosy at 60 metres until they lost possession.
No guts, no glory.
Forwards must provide a target, mid field must hit their target as happened with Maguire in second half.
Lynch too young but must lead harder and attack marks and opponents harder.
Not ready for AFL yet. None of this years recruits are ready.
Crowe just did not cut it at CHF.
Sandy should play Sautner at FF and keep Maguire at CHF, the experience would be good for St Kilda.
I would also like to see them attack the player with the ball as soon as the umpire calls play on.
Maybe Sandy needs Lyon to coach them too.
At three quarter time Bullants coach said when we have them under pressure we know they will go short, when Bullants were under pressure they went long - Bullants won.
Maguire, Miles, Steven ready to play AFL, forget the rest until next year.

i don't care how much any of our players don't deserve dropping, Goose has to come back in next week. He is now clearly 100% good to go and is clearly too good to be wasting away in the VFL. i cannot wait for him to run out for his 100th game, he's worked really hard to get there, so the sooner the better for me.
