what has happened to this site?
i remember in previous seasons, if i hadn't visited the site for a couple of days i would have missed pages and pages on new threads, after a game was mayhem, win, lose or draw and there were many more slanging matches for a bit of a giggle.
is it just me or are the number of posts on the forum well down?
i know a lot of regulars from the past are rarely posting these days.

thought the same thing the other day
here we are 4 and zip and hardly any new threads started.....
and when they do come they are usually shite repeats of another thread.
think its human nature to WANT to bag the crap outta something....
and the usual suspects dont have much ammo at the mo.
i mean where is the fox report?????
soft....totally soft
only got something to say when the chips are down and we are in a bit of strife
if thats the case im glad its quiet

Is it just me or is everyone finding it hard to be excited at our excellent start because we expect dissapointment? Thats how I see it anway. I cant be truly happy about being 4 and 0 because I fear that eventually they will let us down.
I will say though that there are plenty of excited St Kilda fans about, especially at the game last Saturday Night. From the first bounce everyone was so loud and encouraging, (considering the pathetic crowd we actually had there), it was good to see regardless of how I'm feeling about our 4-0 record.

True but usually the more excitment, the more posts. Or the more depression, the more posts. More injuries also equals more posts. We are sitting in a good position right now, with minimal injuries and minimal players already sidelined. But we have a tough couple of weeks coming up and, if we can come out the otherside with a few victories under our belt, I'd expect a lot more posts. Yes, we've had success but our opposition hasn't exactly been impressive. We haven't played the three best teams yet.fonz_#15 wrote:this has nothing to do with our on field or field business or whatever. i am just talking about the website as a whole, it used to entertain me for hours, now i visit for an hour a week. tops.
Its kinda the same with our membership. We're stuck at a lull there as well because, yes we've won four in a row, but theres always doubt that it will all come crashing down when he face GOOD teams.

Would you like me to start a racist sacred cow banner thread?fonz_#15 wrote:i remember in previous seasons, if i hadn't visited the site for a couple of days i would have missed pages and pages on new threads, after a game was mayhem, win, lose or draw and there were many more slanging matches for a bit of a giggle.

i believe we are all holding our breaths and waiting for the next 4 -5 rounds. that will prove whether we are contenders or pretenders!matrixcutter wrote:thought the same thing the other day

True that. We won't really know how we are going until well into the season. But it's a great start and helps the bean counters down at the club...more wins early on means more members and more casual supporters turning up at the game.saintly wrote:i believe we are all holding our breaths and waiting for the next 4 -5 rounds. that will prove whether we are contenders or pretenders!matrixcutter wrote:thought the same thing the other day

ya know....losing is part of footy
and if we dropped one to the dogs id be disappointed, of course, but when Port beat us, and usually always beat us i get down right totally pissed off.
once, JUST ONCE can we have an after match function against port and talk about a WIN over here.......
pump up boyz.
three days to go.
bring the best

The guy I posted about who was bagging us relentlessly during the first half against the Swans did not say a word during the game last week, except when Milne fumbled a bit. Not one clap or cheer.... in fact he spent half the time with his back to the game chatting to a friend.
Bad news provokes more debate and comment than good news... and yes, we're probably all just holding our breath a bit.

I think because we've all been hurt so much before, we aren't talking them up too much. And we can't bag em, so what else is there to do?InkerSaint wrote:Ssshhhh.... we're keeping the lid on.
You could start me on the Aussie cricket selectors. How is Andrew Symonds playing for us today?????

Re: what has happened to this site?
i agree. there seems to be less posts. less ranting. less lunatics. i dont like it at all!fonz_#15 wrote:i remember in previous seasons, if i hadn't visited the site for a couple of days i would have missed pages and pages on new threads, after a game was mayhem, win, lose or draw and there were many more slanging matches for a bit of a giggle.
