WTF???
Is all that I will say to that.
WHO would you drop?
WHY drop anyone?
WHAT has Goose done so amazingly spectacular in the magoos to deserve breaking into the top ranked AFL side after 3 rounds, that's just had a near 100 point win with an awesome, functional defence?
I think, with all due respect, you're looking for a needle in a haystack on that one.

Person closest to force his way in is Xavier, but who do you drop?
Keep it settled. Give the lesser likes more time whilst we're flying, builds there confidence, increases depth,we need depth
max has to be play when fit...why hold him off???

I like the experience Dawson is getting out of this at the moment. We know what we're going to get with Max,I like the luxury of resting the old fella at the moment. I don't want too see him pull the calf again playing against the shockers, keep him fresh for the long haul

if his hammy goes now in three rounds or in the finals its going to happen and will screw us over
what experience will dawson really get by playing an extra game now...having to then come back for a match or two in the finals???
bring max back and if it happens it happens

We need to consider bringing the Goose back soon and especially when playing weaker sides.
Goose was once close to the best CHB in the comp, he may never return to that form after what he's been through, we need find that out and the only way is by rolling the dice. But we cannot have him and Max coming back at the same time, this would put too much pressure on our back six.
IMO opinion Goose needs to come back in the next couple of weeks, followed by Max a couple of weeks after. We need to know by about the mid way mark of the season whether these guys are going to be part of our finals campaign.
This needs to achieved with as little disruption to the side as possible, who would be dropped I'm not sure as yet...tough call.

max is still on the injury list-- RL stated yesterday would not be an option as he is still under rehab conditions.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote: no we cant afford to...a game into max is better for everyone

The only way Goose, or Max, or anyone else will get back into the team is if someone in the team either drops their effort, or falls out with an injury.
Lyon has made it clear he will reward effort. I can't see him playing favourites for anyone, even Max - it would undermine his message to the group and set a bad example.
The Saints will not lose a game if all the players keep up their efforts as they have done.

+1. Why rush him back? He needs to demonstrate that he's ready for senior football by dominating in the VFL for a few games.saintsRrising wrote:No.
Let him get fully fit and match-practiced.
Isn't it awesome having the situation where players really have to earn their chance to break into the side. Am loving it.

No to Goose - give him time he still is not ready for AFL just yet.
If Max is fit i wouldn't mind him being selected problem is who do you take out. If his Calf were to go i would rather it be against Freo than have him come in against the Dogs and leave us one short. If his calf held up it means that he would have a game under the belt going in against the Power where he would be likely to line up against perhaps Tredrea.

I can't believe people are wanting Geary dropped still...
He has been our fourth most prolific tackler in a side that has been building wins around tackling... He has also shown a couple of moment of magic which to me indicate he has the potential to take his game to another level...
IMO he should stay in the side as a forward stopper, CJ has forced his spot in the midfield so Geary should take his old role, Geary can give the oppositions rebounding defenders something to worry about and also apply immense pressure when they've got the ball.
