How are the memberships going now??
Would reckon there'd be people clamouring to get on board right now. They are exciting to watch - and seem to have that killer istinct again. I know there is going to be a concerted effort to get the 6000 lapsed members back on board by way of all senior players ringing these ppl directly today or tomorrow I think. I would hope we get most of these back on board now.
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

I would also expect it to continue as the stimulus packages continue to pour out...

Just had a call from Gardiner and didnt sign up (plus I wasn't sure it was him )... then another call 10 mins later from Cahil and finally signed up 2x memberships.
I was just 50/50 because last year I did, and went to 2 games, plus in short on cash. (Plus the games last year were average/boring).
Anywho hopefully the cards get activated in the next week or so
I should of spoke to S.Fisher dam...

someone noted several weeks ago that another club had done itbigcarl wrote:good initiative by the club. are we the first to do this or is it common practice, i wonder?
unfortunately i won't be getting a call from roo or kosi. made the mistake of already renewing my membership.
Blues did it last year
the saints have done it before- possibly 4-5 years ago
someone last week said they got a call from Burkie.
one of the clubs new Sponsors has helped make this possible- PCL is a call centre operation- so even if thier sponsorship is only the use of facility it helps the club.

well, it's a good idea anyway even if it has been done before and the timing couldn't be better.
will be interesting to see how our membership goes after a 3-zip start to the season and a 97 point smashing of west coast.

for the question; How are the memberships going now??
increase of 731 over the weekend- BUT much of that would have been before the game at the weekend
Current tally
13/4/09 28,227
6/04/09 27,496
Tomorrows tally and the end of this week will be the test- post game and with the team doing the ring around- I see there are atleast 4 sigend up tonight.

Good to see the initiative appears to be working with some of the posters on here signing up.
Maybe a similar drive at the end of the year to encourage early bird renewals could serve a double purpose of getting numbers in early and rewarding those of us who will miss a call because we've stayed loyal and signed up.

agree bigcarl- they announced it a couple of weeks ago but the situation is now ripe
almost agree python- But no one's getting my reserved seat.
I wonder how long it would take them to ring 30,000 members between now and the end of the year..
maybe they should get the players to adopt a supporter or two
as it is it will take them a while to get through the 4-6,000 that are lapsed ,
out of curiosity - what are call centre call rates- ie how many calls per hour ?

Point taken SaintBrat
Wasn't really expecting that it would be a practical idea.
A lot easier to ring the 6000 lapsed members than the 30 odd thous we do have.
Lets make it even easier on them next year by all signing early so they have even fewer to call.
Anyway if it gets e few more on board for the club, I'm happy.

hey Debi- I just stated to a friend- I would probably freeze if they rang me- same as i do when I met them in person- all rational conversation goes out the window
but like many would love to have the chance to say to people- oh Goose/Dal/ Nick/ Luke rang me the other day
or like some on here; be able to say- " when i was chatting to >>>/<<<< the other night

Going off topic now I know. Sorry.
But SaintBrat a few years ago when Milney and Bakes first started Saintly entertainment, I looked into it for daughter's 18th. Couldn't afford it, so asked if I could negotiate a price for a phone call. They were happy to call her for a small sum which they then donated to a charity.
Long story short, there was a bit of a mix up with Milney leaving her number behind somewhere so they called her late (she didn't mind in the least), then they called her a second time, then called me to apologise!
They were magnificent and it was her favourite 18th present. (and mine)!

Sitting in a Brisbane unit here..... can someone please tell me what i should do....
My wife lost her job 8 weeks ago...we have our next bundle of joy arriving in late July.....
Am I a bad "Supporter" if I don't renew???
Some people should think before they lump everyone in the same bucket as non-supporters just because memberships haven't be renewed.
For all you folk fortunate enough to be at next Saturday night's game watching the Saints, don't give me a second thought, as I'm cleaning bathrooms as a 2nd job since being made redundant from an IT provider some 12 weeks ago.....
I will just consider myself to be a bad Supporter...
FFS.... you people have no grasp of reality!!!

Good luck with all that Seaford Saint. Of course you are not less of a supporter. Sometimes life just gets in the way. I dont think anyone would argue that.
Its more about the ones that can, but dont. 04/05 pussy bandwagoners. Where they are not going to sign unless everything is going just right and they deem the club worthy of their patronage.
