I liked what Mini was doing last night, hard at it, getting the contested pill and being able to feed off to advantage. Was in my top 5 so keep it up fella.
Yes i am/was one of Minis doubters but am very willing to eat humble pie
Consider what players if fit should be a look in for the 22:
Maxy, Raph, X, Armo, Eddy, Dempster (2nd half of the year). That's 6 players.
I don't include Goose, I think he is a long way off. Just needs to string together a number of games and gradually work back into it. I like Eddy, has some limitations, but has come up a level through the pre-seaon. Dempster was very good in the back pocket, but might struggle to get a place.
Obviously Max get in for dawson,
But from there is gets more difficult. The candidates for lose their spots:
Gwilt - Getting better, has some upside
Jones - great work rate, poor decision-making and disposal skills, but RL likes him
Geary - I think he has a lot of upside and worth keeping
King - 2 ruck combo is good, but we could be a bit top heavy. With Raph back in, gilbert can go forward, which adds a 3 marking & mobile tall. Therefore, frees up Kosi to be a danaging mobile forward-ruck player.
??- Who else?
I thought Mini was among our best too.
For mine Dawson has only been keeping Max's place warm for him. Raph is also an automatic return.
Armitage would have to be considered at some time as well.
the only one i worry about is goose. He's not the quickest bloke in the world but is capable of running up and kickin a few when needed.
i think it will take him a few games to get back up with the pace of it but itll be one of those things that will hopefully pay off and he'll be back playin like he did a few years back
