Max X Raph and Goose
Who would get a gig in our current team?
Lance or James??

There are no obvious outs I could see from this weeks team- unless of course there were injuries suffered during the game that progress through the week.
At half time I thought X would be in line to take Geary's spot, however after half time he stepped up and his work rate improved- which makes me think he deserves another go in the seniors next week.
I think also inclusions will be dependent on who performs well this week for Sandy. I thought Goose would be ready to comeback around R3 so it'll be interesting to see how he performs this week.

Re: Max X Raph and Goose
at their best all are in our best 22, imo. but it is hard to break into a winning team.
of course, goose has been our for so long that we don't know he's capable of getting back to his best.

Normally Id say yes...but Gwilt started using his ample frame....and some really nice touch (missed a goal but his pick up was reflex spot on...)......X provides run and carry and actually his biggest threat is Farren Ray...Gwilt adds a different dimension I think.saint66au wrote:If X plays another stand out game this week he coems in for Gwilt...no question.
Gearys second half really impressed me

Max is in our top 10. Raph in our top 18. X in our top 22. Goose a long way off
Ideally we'd see this team in a month or so
B: Gilbert, Hudghton, Baker
HB: S.Fisher, Blake, R.Clarke
C: Gram, Hayes, Goddard
HF: X.Clarke, Riewoldt, Montagna
F: Schneider, Koschitzke, Milne
Foll: Gardiner, Ball, Dal Santo
Int: Ray, McQualter, X.Clarke, Geary
That's a team that could seriously push for the top 4.

Either Max or Goose for Dawson a lay down mazaire for me. Both need footy under their belts first though regardless of who they have to replace. Not to prove they are good enough but to prove that they can stand up to it. Interestingly enough Blake Fisher and Gilbert may all be to vesatile and good enough runners that both dont have a spot?
I think Raph is in the coaches best 22 without a doubt. For gwilt?
X is in a group of runners/smalls with Gram Ray Begley Geary maybe even the two small forwards in Schneider and Milne, Eddy, Baker, Jones etc. Obviously they cant all play together and none are genuine midfielders, the question is who is playing best and who can do the things we need. X can play at both ends of the ground and can go in the guts for short spurts. Fit he is best 22 IMO, he has to prove it though.

No King? It seems that he and Gardi are forming a good combo and allowing Kosi to concentrate on being a forward target.mad saint guy wrote:Max is in our top 10. Raph in our top 18. X in our top 22. Goose a long way off

But Dawson has shown enough in the last 2 games, IMHO, to make one think he is going to play some significant footy for us post Max's retirement.HarveysDeciple wrote:Dawson slipped a bit from last week. Wasn't terrible at all but got beaten a few times by Tippet.
Max is still the far better option and would walk in for zac no questions asked.
He may yet prove to be another very cheap pickup by us.

Im wrapped with how young Zac is doing.
Would be good to have Max back for the consistency, but Dawson is laying a good future platform.

Agree. You can't judge n a week to week basis. If Zac is to be blooded, he needs regular senior time.Mr Magic wrote:But Dawson has shown enough in the last 2 games, IMHO, to make one think he is going to play some significant footy for us post Max's retirement.HarveysDeciple wrote:Dawson slipped a bit from last week. Don't forget that having hin and Max down back will release Gilbo to teh FWD line... which was the original plan this year.
Goose is the real ? for me. Given the style of player being used ATM.
The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.
