Adelaide next weekend.

Post: # 715220Post n1ck »

Whos going over, and where are some decent places to stay?

Im thinking of driving over with the old man on Friday and spending the rest of the weekend over there.

I have been there before but not since the 2005 final. Whats the best way to get tickets these days?

Does anyone know any good places to go out after the game or Saturday night?

Would be good to meet some of the SA Saints, or some more travelling Sainters!

Good question.
Last time I went over to Moranville after the prelim, found the nightlife non exsistant, literally. Every place is town was empty....so not sure where the cretins go out,if they do?

check details on the cheer squad/moorabbin wing forum
you can only get a seat on the bus for the Port Adelaide game (rd 5), not Adelaide this weekend.

So, 1960 was a bad year for you, eh? Don't expect there'll be too many volunteers to show you where all the cretins hang out...I dunno, maybe it's an attitude thing.

:x I can't go...I'm cashless!

Nick, stay somewhere close to public transport, namely the bus to the ground...maybe in the CBD? There's nowhere close enough to walk and transport to the ground is a bitch, unless a fellow sainter can pick you up?

Sorry I can't help mate...I'll be stuck watching it from the loungeroom, wishing I could afford a beer. :(

We are heading over for the game and booked seats about a fortnight ago. If you are after tickets for the game try Bass - but tickets for Crows games usually sell very quckly.

Driving to Adelaide I would allow 8 hours and travel through Bordertown, it is just over 700 kms each way.

For places to stay you cannot go past the Lakes Resort Hotel which is within walking distance to the oval, and about 4 stars. For cheaper options I would consider staying at Glenelg or West Beach both within 15 minutes of the ground via Car.

flying over early friday, and home early saturday.
just because you bought those tickets you dont have to sit there. it wont be a sell out, and there will be many, many seats in the cheer squad free.

everytime i have seen us play here there has been a function afterwards
maybe over a dozen games now over the years, and there is always a function, with either ceo or coach talking and maybe one or two players, and then usually a few more players that come up and sign stuff.
i cant see it being any diff
although there is two games this year over here so they could only do it for one game i spose.....
we'll know by middle of the week....

I can confirm there will be an after match function held in the AAMI Stadium Legends Room located behind the coaches boxes. This event will kick off after the final siren and will include players, raffles, and free entry for members. Expecting 100-200 people to attend.

Not me. Though I very much wish I was...

Super idea. Leave at 5am or so on Friday and you'll get there in time for a lunch at the Grand Hotel in Glenelg. Wash down your Parma ("parmy" over there) with a Southwark Pale. Superb.
I have been there before but not since the 2005 final. Whats the best way to get tickets these days?
Through the club, or failing that, BASS.
Does anyone know any good places to go out after the game or Saturday night?
What are you after?

My favourite places are
Club: 1. Distill, 2. Savvy, 3. The Stag [used to be sensational]
Bar: 1. Vodka Bar, 2. Lotus Lounge, 3. Garage
Pub: 1. The Botanic, 2. Grand Hotel [Glenelg], 3. Crown and Sceptre

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Good choice in clubbing, Vodka Bar is my fave, but hard to get in unless you're a super model these days.

And hack pup is out again, bowled without troubling the scorers.

Hehe...probably not bad, if your either 15 or 50. Stay away from 'Horizons' (aka 'Horrorzones') at the Grand, it's ugly. The backpackers around the corner could be fun though!?! :P
