It's very easy to come out and say 'I told you so' after one good game, but we know how good he CAN be... We just need more of that out of him.

I have never questioned his courage or even his overhead ability, my problem is his consistency and his tendency to be tagged out of matches...

Quite the contrary - easy to lay the boots in a after a poor game.....I would suggest Dal has had more good ones than bad ones eh....4 top 5 B&F finishes probably suggests he is a bit consistent.

Did well. We need him up fwd more often. 2 goals a game will do me this year.

I seriously thought Ross Lyon told him at quarter time he was almost done at the club. He was a 1000% better player after quarter time, and was clearly best on ground.

I think ross the boss would have said that to a few of them at qrt time, BJ's start was just as shocking along with many others.

It is his consistency of hardness that has annoyed me at times......

has been to guilty of picking and choosing when to go at times.....

guilty of laziness and watching rather than running to best spot for the team at times...hence the many times he had run written on tape arounf wrist.......

chose to go tonight......

saw him early in the game down back (real early before we were 5 goals down) and again I couldnt understand it.

He simply has to be allowed as a true mid to play fwd of the centre at all opportunities - he kicked 2 and hit Milne on the chest for a shot which he stuffed.....thats a another story.

Dal Santo in modern footy is gold - he doesnt waste it. Yes he has to be mindful of the damage his opponent causes and be defensive at times but when we can this IS the guy that makes sides pay....unlike a Gram who is hit/miss disposal.

Great player. Always has been and will continue to play exactly as he always does. Gets kicks when winning doesnt when losing.

As we know only too well
- at his best his silky skills are sublime
- at his worst he can look disinterested

Tonight he was sublime.

But one Swallow doesn't mean it's Summer (or whatever that stupid saying is :D )

I think thats a tad unfair Plugger.

From where I sat tonight...there was a period we went fwd only to see guys time and again miss veru gettable goals (see Gram, Montagna, Milne).....I thought it was here Dal Santo really stepped up to break the shackles a bit and show some class.

He hit Milne on the chest and goaled 2 himself.....(one out of a clearance situation off 1 step just inside 50) and IMO was a bit of a catalyst more than a reactionary player only playing well when we win.

He was in and under tonight also, again more the 'cause' rather than the 'responder'.

I actually wasnt being sarcastic at all. That is how i rate Dal. I think he is a great player who should only play as a giver if that is a word. Should never be held back and try to be defensive.

if you're saying he should be used in offensive roles where he can hurt the opposition then i agree,

When I saw Kieran Jack go to him, I knew Dal was going to have a big game. Sydney usually put a better player on him (McVeigh, Kirk).

He raised the bar tonight. I fear that if he drifts back to his normal level in weeks to come people will give it to him even more.

Yeah nah pleasing positive
