SUPERCOACH- the black book
like most of you, the supercoach little black book aired some ideas and players i had hoped not many people would choose
ala higgins, haslby and spoke about the importance of rookies.
i was just wondering if anyone else has any other tips for the saintsational family?
any other bargins?
i want to see a saintsational member take it home this year
or get in the top 10 it would be awesome!
mine are
dangerfield
rance
davenport
hill
swift
higgins and
alwyn davey
ive been lookng for the cheap bargins, who are bound to go up in price.
LETS GO SAINTSATIONAL!

Schoemakers might be given a crack given their lack of depth down back, especially if Croad's comeback is delayed. I suspect he or Lisle will be given a shot.saintjake wrote:will Schoenmakers get a game at hawthorn?
lewis is still expensive.
pyke is a good pick from what ive read
henshel is a real risk.
how many knee reco's is he comming from?
Lewis is a gut feeling pick. Taken at 7 in the draft after Buddy and Roughead, I think he'll step up this year.
Pyke's a decent gamble, and cheap to boot. Sydney only have one bonafide ruckman, so I suspect at least one Swan ruck will rise dramatically in value.
Hentschel has only had one knee reco, but had a few niggling injuries last year.

i'm not in the saintsational league so i'm happen to discuss who i think are bargain players:
From my team:
Backs:
D Wojinski (Geelong) $367,700
M Maguire (Saints) $162,900
Mids:
T Swift (Eagles) $94,000
D Kerr (Eagles) $482,100
Rucks:
H Macintosh (Roos) $335,500
B McEvoy (Saints) $150,000
Forwards:
S Higgins* (Dogs) $223,400 *Note = Is it correct he is in the Dogs leadership group???
S Gumbleton (Ess) $94,000
They're some players in my team... other 'value' players (IMO) i would like to fit in include...
Dangerfield (Adel)
Vespremi (Syd)
McVeigh (Ess)
J Anthony (Coll)
L Hanson - maybe (Roos)
I'll probably change my team about 100 times before round 1, but there you go.

The Sydney ruck division is interesting. They've been tinkering with moving White to a KP spot, which would open the door for either Currie or one of the rookie list rucks. Sydney can elevate a rookie whenever they like with Kennelly gone. Pyke would surprise me though. AFAIK, he's never played an organised game of football anywhere ever.St Fidelius wrote:The black book suggested in the "buy 'em" section Daniel Currie at $94,200 is a good ruck choice
Yeah nah pleasing positive
I reckon Pyke'll play a few games this year. He's already got the build, mature age and a bit of speed to him.vacuous space wrote:The Sydney ruck division is interesting. He's in the Swans squad for Sunday, know more after that

No they can't. Kennelley isn't injured, thus can't be put on the LTI list. However Leo Barry is injured, paving the way to upgrade a rookie for the first few weeks...vacuous space wrote:Sydney can elevate a rookie whenever they like with Kennelly gone.St Fidelius wrote:The black book suggested in the "buy 'em" section Daniel Currie at $94,200 is a good ruck choice

You're right. I forgot about that. What about Fosdike? He retired because of injury problems. Can he be replaced on the senior list?hotdish wrote:No they can't. I'm pretty happy with my team but I'm querying a few players
what do you guys think of
Def
Raph Clarke (St.K) $369500
Alex Rance (Rich) $94000
Paddy Ryder (Ess) $338900
Mids
Jack Stevens (St.K) $94000
Nick Fosdike (Syd) $210000
Ruck
Hamish McIntosh (NM) $335300
Brad Ottens (Geel) $395100
Forwards
Kurt Tippet (Adel) $282600
Adam Schnieder (St.K) $391700
Most of those guys have huge potential upsides, who's worth the risk?

If Raph brings his late 08 form, he'll be a good one to have. Ryder doesn't score very well from CHB. He tends to play shut down roles and doesn't find a lot of footy himself. Rance isn't looking likely so far.skeptic wrote:what do you guys think of

Fosdike has retired, so that's a non-starter. Steven's a good cash cow if he plays. We'll see on that one though. A lot of competition for spots.Mids
Jack Stevens (St.K) $94000
Nick Fosdike (Syd) $210000
Either one is fine as your other ruck if they're healthy.Ruck
Hamish McIntosh (NM) $335300

Tippett hasn't shown a lot of scoring potential. He did well as a cash cow last year. I didn't see much to suggest he'd be much of a scorer either as a forward or a ruck though. Doesn't get much footy. Schneider is like a lot of small forward - puts up the odd big game and then disappears for a while. I'd want to see him pushing up the ground more before I'd consider him.Forwards
Kurt Tippet (Adel) $282600
Adam Schnieder (St.K) $391700

Just my opinion
I got burned with Ryder last year. Steven is a good kid, but I don't know how many games he'll get this year. We've got a lot of players fighting for the last few spotsskeptic wrote: Def
