Judd on Harvey

Post: # 695987Post evertonfc »

Speaking to Mike Sheahan in today's Herald Sun:

http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,865 ... 11,00.html
[Judd] is equally excited about the arrival of former St Kilda champion Robert Harvey as a member of the coaching panel.

"I was rapt when we got him. I haven't had a great deal to do with him so far, but, certainly, once the games start, I'll be looking to use him a bit more," Judd said.

"We've had a chat, nothing in depth.

"There's a few things I want to ask him about."

Like?

"I'd like to know how I'm perceived by opposition clubs.

"What they say going into games -- things like, 'We'll do this to him, do that; this is what he's no good at at; this is the area where we should try to exploit him'.

"I'll be picking his brains. He was an amazing player, just a never-stand-still player, which I'm not. He's an enormous resource."
Let me know if y'all want this in the opposition forum :?

Very interesting. I think I read somewhere that the younger blokes at Carlton are still in awe of Harves.

I think Juddy is too, from reading that!

If Carlton break their drought & beat St.kilda this year, I'll be holding Harves' partly responsable.
& I'll throw up if I see him linked arm in arm with the team, after the game singing that dreadful song after they have beaten us! -Treachery.

Time to move on re Harvey..or at least while he is with an opposition club.

Be in no doubt..Harvey is a true profesional and he will do EVERYTHING he can to ensure that the Blues knock off the Saints.

Harvey is now a Blue...and is not a Saint.

it could give him insights to see how other clubs tailor their training during the weeks prior to playing him

makes sense

Yeah I mean he only gave our club 21 years of loyal and brilliant service....how dare he be an assistant elsewhere, how incredible ungrateful of him

Glad to see how showed more backbone then some supporters.

but he isnt part of our club now???

what does him having 21 years of blah blah blah and him now coaching/assisting carlton have to do with each other????

why do we have to cut him slack because he is a legend of our club, hell - give him credit when he ceases coaching opposition or in general, however right now he isn't part of us

its as if we are to say, oh lets murder all opposition bar carlton cause the great man (all bow down muslim-esque to the floor at the sounding of his name)

he played for us...he was a role model for us...

was...

I loath Carlton....and I wish them no success with Harvey, but it's this undertone I sense in posts that Harvey has done the wrong thing by pursuing an assistant coaching role that irks me...

I hope the Blues never succeed again, but I can't hold a grudge against Harvs and that isn't idol worshipping

Accusations of disloyalty by Harvs go way to far and that's what I mean with these posts.

You say your not into Idol worshipping?
Ummmm... Your name & the 17 or so images of Harvey, every time you post, somewhat contradicts this statement.

Dunno what I'm going to do with myself now that he is retired....might not be able to watch the club anymore, my only true reason is gone.

I mean I have Harvey in my username, what a compelling argument.

It's sold on me.

Im not the one who gets offended just by one of our players wearing another club's shirt....it looks like it has affected you more then it has affected me.

Judd on Harvey, just like Bradley on Harvey, Harvey wins every time.

I cant find the link, but Harv's accompanied a group of senior Blues coaches/players and some journos to S/E Asia recently on some sort of goodwill trip?

It was reported that Harv's "was obviously uncomfortable singing their song" 8-)
