No one likes to see a champion fall, even if at one time they hated him.

Mcqualter would be earning the same as him too ... biggest mistake we've ever made not doing it... would have brought in sponsers, marketing, membership and most of all performance on the field... and if it went ass then we'd have the same list minus one on the rookie list... (because one will be promoted)Animal Enclosure wrote:Well said Barks.
This decision will go down as one of the greatest f#$ ups St Kilda has ever made (and there's a fair few over the journey).
Some much for worried about sponsors reactions... they f#%ing lining up at Punt Road to throw $$$ at them.
If it wasn't so sad I'd laugh at the thought of McQualter lining up on Cousins & think what might have been.
Oh well, I'll just try to be positive at the thought of our kids following our fantastic Captain & taking us to the promised land.

What is wrong with hoping Cousins FAILS and plays little part in Richmond next year or the future?
That would make our club's decision look right!
Why the F*** do we now want Cousins to play good footy again?
All that may do is rise Richmond above us, make it harder for us to beat them.
THAT is the real issue here IMO....
Fine if Cousins plays AFL and is a GOP though!

If Cousins finishes in the top 3 in Richmond's B & F, the current board of the St kilda football club/ Family First should agree to resign on masse and move aside for someone with a fair dinkum clue to take over!
Afterall they've had their go, proven to be a bunch of nuffies with NFI, relocated the club to Seaford, taken liberties with reserved seat holders on level two and now gifted Ben Cousins to Richmond!
It's time to go > current board of the St kilda Football Club!
C'mon be fair, you've had your go, now just GO!

IMO it shouldn't have been a board decision in the first place. We have a football department that is perfectly capable of assessing players, and they take player psychology into account when recruiting players. It should have been left up to our recruiters to do their jobs without having the board get involved.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

Ben Cousins is not gone, he will be right there at the centre bounces cutting our midfielders to shreds.

Bahahahahaaa...Hayes, Dal Santo, Ball...who'd have thought a bunch of Saints supporters would be so fixated by an opposition player that they'd forget we've got a few top 10 midfielders ourselves??? Get Baker back to his best (just as plausible as BC getting back to his best) and Benny will be lucky to see the ball.ace wrote:Ben Cousins is not gone, he will be right there at the centre bounces cutting our midfielders to shreds.rodgerfox wrote:Ben Cousins is gone. There is a reason why we have boards.
It is so that we have someone to make the really big stuff ups.
No boards, no global financial crisis either.
