Merry Christmas Richmond!
Must be time for Richmond to send a nice thankyou notice to the spineless St kilda Football Club board/Family First and thank them whole heartedly for their early Christmas present!
When Cousins tears our pedestrian midfield a new one, we'll know who to thank!
If one of our key quality midfielders goes down and tests our midfield depth, we'll know who to thank!
When it suddenly becomes obvious that we are one Ben Cousins short of a premiership in 2009, we'll know who to thank!
An absolute gift horse, fell into our lap, a free kick, a wonderful opportunity, a ready made champion for a pick in the 80's delivered on a platter and we passed it up, after many months of leading him on!
FAIR DINKUM
I just hope Richmond appreciate that their Xmas present was hand delivered to them from the board of the St kilda Football Club!
Cousins should be a Saint, that he is now a Tiger, is a wasted opportunity for this club!
Merry Xmas Richmond!
For Xmas I'm just hoping that the St kilda board resign en masse, to make the transition to a board with a fair dinkum clue, much smoother and sooner rather than later?
It's all a fair dinkum disgrace!

DO THE MATHS AND THE SQUARES ARE ALL ROOTED.
A bit like Groundhog Day in 2002 when we received the Christmas Gift of Brendan Goddard from Carlton.
I hope for Cousins' sake he stays clean and makes a go of it. I also hope his hamstrings stand up to the strain. They were and are my main concern.
But when it's all said and done, well done to Richmond for weighing up the risk and realising it was a win/win for them. They've provided him with an opportunity...if he doesn't grasp it, they cannot be accused of not trying.

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

And so with one fell swoop of the keyboard, and in 9 simple words... Joffaboy slays the ancient Dragon of BS. And sends him weeping back to his cave with his tail between his legs. (wipes tears from my eyes).
An BIG elepahnt stamp for you!
Priceles, quick... now I'm jealous.

Not only have we missed a golden opportunity... but what makes matters worse is that he now plays for a club who's training facilities are located so much closer to St Kilda's spiritual home than Seaford will ever be.
Fair Dinkum!

Well said Barks.
This decision will go down as one of the greatest f#$ ups St Kilda has ever made (and there's a fair few over the journey).
Some much for worried about sponsors reactions... they f#%ing lining up at Punt Road to throw $$$ at them.
If it wasn't so sad I'd laugh at the thought of McQualter lining up on Cousins & think what might have been.
Oh well, I'll just try to be positive at the thought of our kids following our fantastic Captain & taking us to the promised land.

Barks I agree with you.....
However, our board made the decision not to take him.
They made a decision that they believed was in the best interests of the club.
I guess we'll know after this seasons over if it was the right choice.
And.....been that I hope BC gets back to AA status, I honestly believe after the season is over it will be looked back on as a bad decision.
Still, it's now in the past, time to move on.

Im with this point of view, none of us are privy to what facts the board had to make their decision, so how can we know its a wrong oneThe Saintsational Man wrote:Barks I agree with you.....

No one likes to see a champion fall, even if at one time they hated him.
