Who is jealous?????
Of the tigers - who have come out of this smelling like roses
whilst perhaps stealing perhaps the biggest coup in recent draft history....
They have been lauded by;
The AFL
The members
their players
The general footy community
Drug rehab experts
The premier
Do not drag on and start a massive debate....just want to see some numbers.....
I for one....YES - f***ing jealous...but good on them for having BALLS>>
In a word Yes or No.

What I have heard - No I am definately NOT jealous of Richmond.
Hopefully it is not true but I fear for Ben. I truly hope the guy has his health and his addiction under control.
Junkies can reoffend at any time.
Hopefully now Ben knows better than to shave and wax his entire body prior to a hair test.
And no the last two sentances are not intentionally related.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Not jealous...I just like what they've done. It's the right thing.
And if Cousins completes his career with them - or plays at least three years - I can't see this being labelled anything other than a huge success.
Even if he's not the player he was, it's fantastic that Richmond are willing to help rehabilitate Ben Cousins back into society.
I'm ecstatic for Ben and delighted for the Richmond Football Club.
I sure hope we finish 1st next year, but by golly, I'm hoping they make top four - and that Ben can get himself on the path back to full health and play great footy.
Welcome back Ben.
Thank you Richmond.

I'm not jealous... yet. For now I am trusting the board did the right decision. But if in one or two years down the track Ben Cousins has played good footy and stayed clean, then I will probably feel a bit annoyed, but the chances on this happening are very low espcially since we decided against after 5 months, and Collingwood decided against it after talking with a private investigator. Hmmmm...
All the best to Ben, but then again, I don't want all the best for him.

no
as far as I can see it richmond has no system in place to help ben with his addiction and there is no indication ben can still play at the highest level.
I only want 1 guy in his 30's with dodgy hammy's and max is him.....

Not in the slightest right now..and in all likelihood wont be until the Tigers beat us to a flag.
<cue moaning poster of your choice> ...and its looking more likely every day that they will
Remember 2001?? . We were the envy of the football world. We'd snagged Blight, scored Hamill and Gehrig...the world was our oyster..EVERYYYONE was jealous of us..
Panned out well didnt it?

No. Not from what I've heard. Even if they beat us.
The last I recall seeing Benny play, it took Attard to break his knee before Benny got into the game. Like Judd, he can be tagged out of the game.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

Devils advocate...
That game you are referring to WJ....We lost by a few goals.....Ben had 30 odd touches....13 in the last....ran until he spewed and picked up the three Brownlow votes...
Solar.....Harves had a knee reco at 29....a shoulder reco at 31....tore his Hammy at 32....Calf twice at 33...from 34-37 he was in our best 6 players in his last 4 seasons.....but he was a Champion.....hang on, Ben is a champion too..and has had a season off with Zero injuries to help his body....

ben did not kick a ball in anger this year and the last time I saw him play football he limped off as if shot. second hammy in weeks. The game is speeding up. I don' trust he could get his body up to the level required. we shall see.....

NO
He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!
I wish the Tigers well. They've got a lot of work on their hands. In fact, a heap of it! I hope they've got the resources to help Cousins stay on the straight and narrow, assuming he's on it already. But really, who can say?
Every big drug dealer and underworld figure in Melbourne will now be sussing out where Ben likes to play after dark, and they'll be hovering around him like flies at a barbecue. That's the tragedy of his situation. With his profile, he'll never be able to get away from the scumbags. It will take unbelievable single mindedness for him to get through the next two years unscathed.
