You are tough crowd.
He wins a time trial and you say big deal, but better to be first than middle or last.
If Judd wins it you think, wow, what an athlete, no wonder he is so good.
If Fish wins it no one plays on 3km grounds any more.
Leigh Fisher - life Saints supporter, top bloke, 50 club games (you?), trying his guts out, yeah lets slam him.
And BTW, yes he knows this is his last roll and he will do everything to make it back.

Keep up the good work Leigh, I hope you prove all these experts wrong in '09.

Tearing hamstrings off the bone has got to hold you back for a while. Ended Jason Cripps career.

Good luck mate.

Good on him...well done on winning a time trial

he still isnt the best footballer

so if Monaghetti won it, would he be the best option for the saints? no! so he can run 3 kms, doenst mean he is the best footballer

A few years ago, L. Fisher was one of this forum's favourite sons. He honestly couldn't put a foot wrong. It has definately turned full circle!!!

Fish hasn't had the best last 18 months but I have no doubt with this triathalon work he is doing can propel himself to at least a very servicable run with player

agree with the above. Gee, his 06 form was fantastic. He needs to lift, but there are others Im far more worried about than him.

Yeah times have changed, in '06 I was thinking about getting the number 6 on my jumper... I thought he was so underrated and always did his job, every single week.

That was before I found SS and found out he was a dud though

Yes best of luck to GOP Fisher.....he's outlasted Fiora and Birss on the list, so he must have something going for him!

Tough crowd??

he is back up at best, he is not fast nor skilled enough to play for the saints, he doenst win enough of a ball and IMO a tagger has to play like Ling (presents and stops) why have a player that negates one player but doesnt do anything himself, it is like having 17 players on both teams, what is the point?

i am sure our best 18 attacking players could match another teams best 18 attacking players....

his game style and slowness do not match todays game, i am sorry, but i think he has come to an end... this will be his last season, who else on the list is on their last straw???

The first name i now think of is L Fisher, that is just facts!

fastest what???

dont make me laugh. the guy cant run. he is a slug. with the introduction of ray and begley - leigh fisher will never play another afl game again. hes got great endurance though. probably should try his luck at road cycling.

What was Judd's time around Princess Park?

I can do it in around 15 minutes. I would probably run it a lot quicker too if I didn't feel the need to piss on the stadium's wall.

It's great that Leigh is quick in a time-trial, a St Kilda supporter and once picked up 32 touches as a quarterback in a flood-ridden game against Hawthorn.

But ultimately, unless he improves about 1000%, he's won't be on the list next year. Would have much rathered Birss, to be honest.

10.10 for judd. 9.50 for fisher. thats pretty friggin quick for fisher. must be a decent distance runner. for a comparison , craig mottram would do princess park in around 8.10.

birss was very over-rated on this dear forum

he curtailed heath shaw's influence (come on...who doesn't?) once and he had the ability to bob up and kick a goal...a goal...not three...but one

because our midfield doesn't kick too many goals we see anything as a god-send...one goal...

wow

Leigh Fisher was one of the first picked, playing HBF under the old coaching panel -

Last year the new coaches tried to turn him into a midfielder, tagger which didn't seem to work
From memory he was dropped once or twice, then selected again and asked to tag Judd and maybe Goodes

With the recruitment of Dempster and the development of Raph Clarke - his chances now might be limited off HBF
I still think he has something to offer....

and begley. i cant see him fitting in as a defender so hes gonna have to work his way into the midfield.

Yes I forgot about Begley. guess I was trying to make a case for Fisher, as he is one of my favourite players

I agree Batnoe, I do hope he really puts in next year, but IMO he does lack skills, and as far as skills go, one for one, Fergs would have beaten him hands down.

I wish him the best and hope in some way he reinvents himself and finds something that has not been evident so far
