SPONSORSHIP - Who should our 3rd Player Be?

Post: # 680768Post Mr Magic »

I have received the following information on the list of players who are not yet sponsored:-
The players that are currently unsponsored are as follows:

- Farren Ray
- Andrew McQualter
- Luke Miles
- Sean Dempster
- Eljay Connors
- Nick Heyne
- Rhys Stanley
- Alistair Smith
- Colm Begley
- Paul Cahill

While I can’t guarantee that any of these players won’t get sponsored, I think that of these players only Farren Ray, Andrew McQualter & Sean Dempster are likely to be sponsored.

If you could confirm for me which players you are after before Wednesday 10th of December, that would be great.

Who would you like to sponsor as our third player?

If we discount the 3 players the Club thinks will get sponsored, that would leave only 7. Would any Mod/Administrator who can organize a 'poll' on those 7 names please do so?

NICK HEYNE

From what I have read since Saturday this guy is a real goer who could play quite a bit of senior footy in 2009 !!

and because he is from that neck of the woods, some of our filthy rich gippslanders will be more inclined to dip into their pockets a little deeper   !!

or going straight into the core group?

edit- I see what they've done- Nick Heyne is listed twice.

Hows about some love for Farren Ray?

Lance or James??

Farren is aparnetly 'under negotiation' from another sponsor, similarly Mini and Dempster, so I thought we should look at players who do not as yet have a sponsor.
Also all 3 of the above mentioned players are in the 'Core Group' and as such are $1500 sponsorships rather than the other 7 who are in the 'Development Group' which are $1050 each.

I'd suggest Colm Begley, for no other reason than I know what it's like to be in another country, and to have moved around that conutry from place to place, each time starting off knowing no one at all. Of course, he's got his team-mates, but I'd say that any small sign of feeling welcomed is worth its weight in gold to someone from another country.

That's just based on my own experiences in the US, where I have moved 4 times in 6 years, each time to a place where I knew no-one except workmates.

Heyne/Lynch.

Would anyone be that surprised if Lynchy already had a link to SS, being a mad Sainter and all.

I hope so because he could then play for us in our inter-forum games alongside Illzy.

SURELY Dempster has earned his stripes.
From SS hack, to more than serviceable half back.

Dempster is not avaialable.
Only the 7 players listed in the Poll are avaialable for us to sponsor as our third player - we already have confirmed Raph Clarke and Jack Steven.

I put my vote in for Begley. (We all love a big font, don't we?)

Heyne is young and while he needs to be encouraged - you have to say that he's a first year player in a home state - he's got a career to look forward to.

Support should be for Begley coz he's moved from another country to play with Brisbane and then moved to the other edge of the continent to play with us.

I think Begley will appreciate such sort of support... given that he may not even have a lot of support structure in Melbourne.
