the reason they had to get special treadmills was that the normal treadmill didn't go as fast as Haile.....Saints-06-Premiers wrote:I only really thought about Gebrsellesie's legend today when someone mentioned it to me. If one person is capable of a sub 2hr marathon its him.
If I only I was fast enough to see him tomorrow. I'll be about 20mins behind him.

He's a TRAITOR, let's hunt him down and rout him out!
....mind you, if he had played 400 games, I might've cut him some slack!!!

If u break it down
I havent done any maths on that, but i know every 400 m a marathon runner does it in 77sec for the whole of the 42km

Didn't see Harvey out there. Saw another legend though, Mr Gebrsellesie warming up around me. Only chance for me to see him is in the warm up. His warm up is quite long and somewhat intense. His warm up was about 30-35mins long (he ran the 15k in 42:xx).
After backing up from aths yesterday I knew today wasn't going to be overly flash. Got caught up at the start amongst all the other runners and never got to the pace I really wanted to run. Oh well, theres always next time. 70mins for me, wanted 60, what did everyone else run?
Btw Dave Hughes can run a bit too. 62mins is a decent effort.
Saw Mona and Hooker there, the footballers I believe ran it in a relay?

I watched on tv and Hughes seemed to go ok- good style into the finish.
Mona was backing up from a bike ride as part of Great victorian Bike ride yesterday and still managed to come in 17th-- he never just goes for a jog in these things- once competitive always
I thought I'd heard the footballers were doing it relay- don't think fitness guys would approve of 15 km flat out
Bryce Gibbs was queried on running as part of training and said probably the longest they do is the 3.2 around PP

If I was the fitness dude I'd instruct all players to run a marathon as pre-season training. Mainly the training for it is what will benefit them
I just wish I could've started closer to the front so I didn't get caught with the slower runners. At 3km I knew I couldn't make up my lost time so just run pretty even 23min 5km splits. I am capable of 63mins.... oh well, a nice training run
I did the Great Vic last year, if anyone here rides a bike, consider doing it if you can get off work. It's worth it!
