More lives than a cat. Being sentimental over players is never going to win us a GF.

You can't cut 25% of the team in one hit. It leaves you too exposed to injuries with only kids to play should a poor injury run hit you.

As far as X is concerned, he's a talented, brave young man, with a fragile body that's not allowed him to play much footy this year. If he can get fit and stay clear of injuries, he's well within our best 22 players. Time will tell.

While I generally agree, I might point out that Port cut a quarter of their team in 06 and made the GF last year.

X was never going to be delisted unless he decided he wanted out. He may not have lived up to his draft pick status, but he's still good enough and young enough to be worthy of a spot. We're hardly going to find anything better in the late stages of the draft.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

Congrats X on another contract.

An injury free pre-season will see him come through with the goods - would love to see him show his natural flair with a free licence.

Quality player and person (can't rate him highly enough as a really good bloke) retained on the list.

Go the X man 2009.

Best news i've heard since last night.

Last night night I became a grandfather, and my grandson is named after a recently retired Sainter legend.

X, I hope you can really put it together next year.
I am really excited about the Clarke boys next year, because I thought Raph wouldn't make it and he has turned it around.
Now I think they both will be part of a very exciting future for the St Kilda Football Club.

Go Sainters!

Thanks very much ohwenthesaints, it's almost as emotional as becoming a father, some 30 odd years ago, although my daughter wasn't named after a Sainter legend.
