Yep, he did - for the 2nd half. The stand-in umpire was under strict instructions to pay me a free if an opponent so much as looked at me!! Let alone tackle me. And the waterboy was to remain in my vicinity whilst I was on the ground. After providing the youngun's with a lesson on how a real footballer goes about it in that 3rd q - I managed to survive the remainder of the game without the usual knee injury. But I'll stick to umpiring from now on!!
