Once again the filth get what they want
You know, I am just so sick of Collingwood getting whatever they want from the draw.
Can anyone remember a time they had more than 4 interstate trips in a season. Fair dinkum this mob makes me puke.
We keep hearing about how great they are and how important they are to the competition from Ed. That is utter BS.
Let's look at their record over the last 50 years, they have won more premierships than, the Bulldogs and Fremantle, then again so has everyone else, including ourselves.
They're not going to win another one anytime soon either with their list.
I don't know of any other competition in the world which so blatantly consistently favors one team.
I do trust someone has explained to Eddie that Telstra Dome is being re named Etihad Stadium, not Eddie Stadium.
Collingwood are living on a period of success before 98% of their supporters we're born and 100% never saw.
My only wish next year, is that they flop, get no where near the finals and are once again shown as the over rated has beens they are. But you know even if they finish bottom, they won't get a draw like Melbourne did this year.

I get so pssd every year when scribes eg TheAge Gleeson (Idiot) Quote "For a side everyone hates, Collingwood gets a lot of love. The magpies will again travel fewer times than the other teams next year (DejaVu), and the reason is simple the clubs that hate them so much all want to play them".Enrico_Misso wrote:Andrew : Just bend over a bit more.
Eddie : Aaah, you're so much better than Wayne Jackson
Can someone explain to me how this works...
For example If collingwood don't play Freemantle in perth they have to play them here in Melbourne. How does this help Vic clubs who want to play them?
The AFL should **** the unfavoured clubs off now rather than put them to death slowly.
How did we get a draw up there with the basket cases?
Where were Saints in crowd attendances last season?
With a draw like this we have to struggle financially.
Talk about junkyard bullies??
Fatcat looks after the clubs that make him fatter...

Re: Once again
The draw is excellent for who we play so RL would love the draw. The admin may not but if we win and play good footy the crowds will come. I would rather have the draw we have next year than the complete opposite which would be having to play the best sides twice but getting more Friday games and more free to air TV.1eyedNever wrote:Once again the SKFC show how GUTLESS and INSIPID they are by saying the draws OK and fair.

Crap play the best sides as many times as it takes
Bet Geelong and the Hawkes dont say lets play the lower sides twice
Typical gutless attitude
Bring em on should be the attitude
Will only win a flag with a take on all comes attitude

I'm not that upset about who we play and when we play with the exception of the Monday Night BS game.
But it infuriates me that Collingwood get the same deal every year, over and above everyone else.
That they don't have to wear a clash jumper and force North to wear an away jumper at North's home game.
As I said once before, I wonder if Eddie has noticed that when he boards that Emirates plane and get's off in any other part of the world and he say's he's President of Collingwood. The response would be, where is Collingwood, never heard of it, or what do you produce? Sorry never heard of it.

I dont think we should care about anyone elses draw. We need to just worry whether our draw is good or not and I reckon it is a very good draw.3rd generation saint wrote:I'm not that upset about who we play and when we play with the exception of the Monday Night BS game.

But we are too scared of the consequences of speaking out.
Scared the AFL will shaft us.
So Westaway hides.

Q; If the AFL are all about "maximising attendances" then why are we playing Collingwood at Telstra Dome when its their home game????????????????
A: Because Collingwood and TD do a deal to have them play 4 games a year there and that has to be factored into the draw, Theyve got a similar deal with the G (14 games)....and the AFL let them get away with it.
plugger, Collingwoods draw IS relevant to us, because the deals they do compromise the integrity of the draw, and that affects every other one of the 15 clubs

There was some guy from the AFL on SEN earlier today (?? Lethleen I think), and he started talking about Collingwoods stadium deals that needed to be factored in. He must have realized that he was talking about a taboo topic and quickly clammed up prior to changing the subject !!saint66au wrote:Q; If the AFL are all about "maximising attendances" then why are we playing Collingwood at Telstra Dome when its their home game????????????????

I dont care about Collingwoods draw as they will always get the preferred draw whether we like it or not. No point in even worrying about it but I do care about our draw and as I have said many times the drae as far as results are concerned looks great on this years form. Who is to know what will happen next year though.saint66au wrote:Q; If the AFL are all about "maximising attendances" then why are we playing Collingwood at Telstra Dome when its their home game????????????????

No plugger, you can do something - we all can - simply boycott any game involving collingwood. Do not watch, do not attend. Refuse to participate and give money to the AFL.plugger66 wrote:

But...if you're happy with the situation just go on being a blissful consumer - that's all the AFL sees us as!

So lets not protect this great game for the sake of collingwood and a couple of their sidekicks!uncle joe wrote:They have a lot more clout in the AFL than St.Kilda . Simple as that .
Huge membership , draw bigger crowds week in week out , very wealthy club , a president that pushes hard to get what is best for his club .
All adds up to a lot more clout in the AFL . Simple as that .
