the Docklands stadium used to be called Telstra Dome - named after a telecommunications company in Australia. the company isn't well known outside Australia, but it provides things like telephone and internet services for people in Australia - which, by the way, is quite a nice country. they have a good lifestyle, focused on outdoor living (BBQs etc)
Gordon Fode couldda been Plugga
Pink Taco in the US wanted to name the Cardinals stadium the "Pink Taco Stadium" (http://www.break.com/usercontent/2006/8 ... 44699.html)
The Dome mangement missed a golden opportunity here.
Pink Taco Dome with an a roof that opens . . . I like the possibilities.

I just heard that our prime minister has sold the naming rights to our country to the Chinese. Next week Australia will be known as "Chairman Mao Zedong Mining Site".
Apparently in return for the naming rights Rudd gets to be known as "Emperor of Chairman Mao Zedong Mining Site" for the next 48 years.

I won't go to Etihad Stadium, instead I will just go to footy.

Is it true that Demetriou is pressuring St Kilda to sell the naming rights to Nick Riewoldt to the Gold Coast, so that they can call him "Gold Coast's Future Centre Half Forward" ?

Come to think of it, which I do, Pink Taco is probably a good nickname for Ian Collins.

Yeah this thread IS funny.Sam23 wrote:lol this thread is funny.
exactly the same was said when it changed from Colonial Stadium.
You'll all get over it
But the difference between Colonial and Telstra - and Telstra and Etjihad -is just a little more removed.
Laughing my arse off right now.
Funny as s*** for me.
Gave evidence at court the other day - and please don't pay out for racism FFS - but it used to be just a bible.
Now there's a Quran there too.
And civilian witnesses now get "affirmed" as a matter of course - unless they particularly want to be sworn with the bible.
This in just less than twelve months since I was in court last.
who really cares... no-one ever calls it anything more then the some or docklands....
but some of the s*** posted on here.... oh well
The sad bit is there are very educated people who post racist stereo- typing small minded crap....

ever heard of how they treat certain people?
Now yes I'm having a shot at how those countries are run, but not at the ordinary person that lives there, as they are not the problem in the most part......

What has that to do with some posters evidencing their racism with a comment like the above?

Because Stinger may not like Arabs for whatever is his reason.......I'm just stating my reason - and where it's specifically directed.GrumpyOne wrote:Yes and Yes to both of your questions.saintspremiers wrote:ever been to an Arab country?GrumpyOne wrote:Well, I thought the racism was blatently evident....... If Stinger wants to expand that's up to him.
In any case, I thought what he said was funny.
