never heard of him.

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.

I know how Dal feels.

I would love to see Buckets as our forward coach.

Some people have short memories.

Stewie used to be a hopeless shot for goal, until Peter Hudson came to St Kilda FC and taught him to kick! Still, maybe he can pass on Huddo's tips.

Maybe he can teach people how to play CHF, how to mark. Maybe you forgot how good he was at those 2 things?

I remember ok.

I remember one match (I was down at Torquay and listening on the radio, so I only think it was Melbourne) when Stewie was playing at CHF. He roamed across the whole HF line, and every ball the fullback kicked in Stewie marked. He was impossible to get past.

Only problem was every time Stewie kicked it, the fullback got to kick out again.

I am one who can remember why he was called Buckets. Those huge hands were fantastic when he was taking marks.

He's treated a little unfairly re his kicking. He was very ordinary for the first three or four years but Hudson came along in 90 or 91 and set him on the right path. Didn't Loewey kick 90 goals in a season in the mid 90s? He played until the end of 2002, so his kicking was pretty good for most of his career, yet gets lumbered with the "couldn't kick" tag because of his first few years.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Exactly. Very unfair.

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Didn't kick often enough in the last years of his career.

Used to take these huge pack marks and handpass out to a player who was completely blanketed and turned it over.

Many times the-play-on-at-all-costs practice that came into his game cost us a possibility of a goal.

Still, a great player who gave 110%.

Totally agree with you ctqs. Stewie is one of my all time favorite Saints player & every time he is mentioned in conversations with non St.kilda folk they always say "Yeah but, pity he couldn't kick straight" When in fact, after Huddos tuition, you could back him in nearly every time

Stewey kicked 90 goals 58 behinds in 1996 after kicking 76 goals 39 behinds the previous year. Career totals 594 goals 406 behinds for an accuracy of 59.4%

A champion in anyone's books!

He was on world record pace in 1996 - 44 goals after seven rounds.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
