id rather the pies trade, it gives us 2 good first rounders, with a higher chance of getting a gun,
then jsut one top 5, with the chance of getting a fiora.

The rumour is just what it is....... a rumour.. with at this stage no basis in fact ...
But like the countless other rumours at this time of year at least it gives us something to discuss and speculate about ...

exactly some times that what a player needs a diff club with diff people can often bring out the best in a player

Excuse me but that is a deal from stupidity, no draft pick is worth 3 players.

There are no guarantees that the player we get will be any good.

Steele Sidebottom would walk into our best 22 right now. Michael Hurley's too good to stay at VFL level for too long. The only guy who might take that long to contibute would be Vickery, and I doubt he's at the top of our list.

The most valuable commodity we're giving up in the rumoured deal is pick 13. Clarke and Gwilt aren't worth a whole lot. They're fringe players. If Port winds up with Lewis Johnston and he winds up a dominant CHF for the Power, people down the road will question the wisdom of the deal.

Luke Livingstone was a great pick up at 4.

That was also a pick that Port gave to us way back into the day - luckily, we on traded it to Carlton.

Pick 4 represents hope - And you was to trade away a top 5 drafted player, a fringe player AND another first round pick all for some hope.

A player that;
a) may not even make the grade
b) will take in excess of three years to break into an established team
c) is a further 3 years away from that of actually influencing games.

All for a first round draftee, a fringe player AND pick 13.......

no i cant guarantee that 4 will be be a star. but you need to play the odds and the probabilities.

i am saying pick 4 is a 50% chance of being really good.

x = 10%, gwilt = 30% and pick 13 = 30% of being really good

so my calculations say 50% is the higest option on offer. get pick 4.

what im saying is we are trading off almost certain duds for a 50/50.

at least gwilt has got on the park
and played some games.
AND he wasnt a top 5 pick
promising so much
he was a long shot and worked out ok.
