St Kilda’s poor loss to Hawthorn in the preliminary final saw intense criticism of Nick Dal Santo and Justin Koschitzke. Neither of the two had his greatest season in 2008 but the club has already worked hard to quash rumours that they may be on the market.
That said, if the price is right, St Kilda would have to look at any deals that may be offered.
The Saints may have also lost patience with injury-ridden defender Matt Maguire, who still may have some currency with other clubs looking for a tall backman.

looks to be a new addition as i looked at it yesterday and there was no mention of matt at all.

I read it the other day and was surprised-

Brat it's from afl.com.au in the Trade Tracker section... I think it's titled "What your club needs" or something along those lines.

If there was I reckon you could see straight through them.
Sometimes trades need to be seen through a different lens.
Several of our past trades require viewing through rose coloured glasses.
I'm not sure trades should be the focal point.
Agreed, we should not be adopting a myopic view of the trading process. There may come into view several trading options that were not envisioned at first sight, and deserve more than a passing glance. It is important that we are not blinkered to opportunities, nor have the shades pulled over our eyes. We must have a clear vision of where we want to end up, or we could be left on the outside looking in.
Now you're just making a spectacle of yourself.
Nah.... This is our window of opportunity.
Love what you're seeing, but I think you're viewing through rose coloured glasses.
Your contacts giving any further insights into our trades?
I can't find my contacts! A prescription for a long hard look is what I see, but it's the blind leading the blind. Just got to remember that Lens is untouchable and soon we'll see.

Considering what we were able to acquire last year so cheaply, with that sort of currency I'd expect big things... and we need big things to happen here.

Xavier Clarke played nearly as many games in the TWO'S this year as the ONE'S (5 vs 8?)
He was dropped after one poor finals appearance - his first game back in the seniors for two months - and is UNSIGNED.
I only ask and wonder - what is Ross up to this trade week??
I have a feeling Lyon is foxing.
I've been wondering about X's future since the day 1 wrap on afl.com suggested Port had been sniffing around X (well, been wondering for a lot longer, but it brought it front and centre). Ports 2nd would probably have both teams feeling like they'd been screwed with their pants on, my pipedream would be that X would be the price to swap first rounders... but I eventually revert to my default position, and doubt anything will happen at all.

referring to a big bloke getting pissed and the comment about getting cut off?
If so it was in refrence to being cut off at the bar not delisted.
heard about that from a friend who was there. he told me basically what was said on the b&f thread from his own accounts and, in relation to being cut off, he said that he was talking about not being allowed back at the bar. i think he spoke to him at one point, briefly, and from the account i got, he never said anything about being worried of retaining his spot...not that you probably would tell a fan about that.
would be interesting to see what eventuates, i mean, st kilda have been paying his medico bills and flying him to see specialists in sydney to ensure he is 100% right- would seem like a huge waste if they had plans to trade him at the end of the season. i mean, of course he would have to go through medical treatments, but from my understanding he has been to numerous specialists all over the world- why would st kilda advocate this and more importantly pay the bills if they were just going to offload him at years end? i cant see them doing it merely to attain the highest possible draft pick.
just a question, is maguire in the leadership group?
also, another quick question, what time does the trading stop each day? like 2pm? 3pm? i know it says on the AFL site that all trades have to made official after 2pm on friday. just wondering how long it'll go for today.
what are people's thoughts on Dean Polo... I know we offered Schwarze for him a year or two back and he's one of those players that I always liked but i've realised i don't really know much about him...

A mate also told me that this 'big bloke' was taking peoples cameras off them when they attempted to get photos and autographs as it was 'his night' and that he 'wasnt sure hed get too many more as the club was not sure about the possibility of getting games into him next season' (- paraphrase).
