Ackland did his PCL, Brooks did his ACL and Watts is missing half a foot. We spent the least on recruiting out of anybody over GT's years. Hopefully Lyon is getting some better advice. I have yet to be convinced that he is. Our draft/trade record is patchy at best since he took over.bobmurray wrote:Beau McDonald did his Posterior Cruciate Ligament and never made it back to where he was....
I'd give H.M. a miss...........GT is no longer with us therefore we are not the dud magnet we once were at Trade time.....
Yeah nah pleasing positive
Chris Connolly didn't mention us as one of the two clubs asking about Green.
However he did mention that Jamar and Chris Johnson had enquiries. I believe St Kilda was linked to Johnson during last seasons exchange.
Unless we get him for a nothing pick (considering Melbourne's high number of early selections) which would probably be 4th round onwards I'd think we should stay away. He's a good young leader however and could develop into a player so if cheap worth a look.

Not sure about that. If he is completely fit he is worth a high first rounder. If he isnt fit he isnt worth anything to us as we have enough of those type already.

Correct
We must get quality young midfield/running types an area we have ignored for many years...
If we rely on rookies and late draft picks the quality will be low as per previous years
I can't wait to see young exciting quick players added to our very good playing core

When fit, Hamish is a very, very good ruckman.
As good as David Hille has become, but with 4 or 5 moreyears left in him than Hille.
Before his injury he was extremely mobile, very good at stoppages and a lovely kick for goal.
Had increased his engine too, could run out games easily.
Was fast becoming the 2nd best ruck 'package' in the comp behind Coxy in 2006/2007.
Definitely worth a first rounder... if fit.

as far as a
You must be mistaken him for Petrie...a lovely kick for goal.
Hamish is an average kick IMO and less than average kick for goal...
24 goals 17 points, in lets say 3 seasons, is not a lovely kick for goal

I don't agree with you. I saw him playing for the Bushrangers at Lavington one day kick 9 goals fro centre half forward. He was slotting them from everwhere. I know it was the Bushrangers, but his kicking (that day) was A1.St Fidelius wrote:You must be mistaken him for Petrie...

If he can come back to his best he is worth a first rounder, if he doesnt well then it would be a waste
If we could entertain both Harris and Hamish for our first round pick, it would be well worth it. Harris i think is the type of player we need and then we can focus our draft on a forward to help out Roo
I think Maguire can play forward but if not we can trade him for a forward
Hamish stats in 07
22 games
10.4 kicks per game
5.6 handballs per game
16 possessions per game
4.6 marks per game
18.7 hitouts
he could work on his tackles- King is a great tackler
Dean Cox's stats this year as it was his best statistically
10.6 kicks
11.5 handballs
21 possessions
5.7 marks
25.9 hitouts
1.5 tackles
he is still a little way from Cox' best year
but that is only 5 possessions and 8 hitouts per game

I dont think 1 club will give up a first round pick for any players that have been mentioned so far in this draft.Batnoe wrote:If he can come back to his best he is worth a first rounder, if he doesnt well then it would be a waste

IMO Okeefe will go for a second round pick (early) and thats about as low as it will go for a player looking for a new home, so talk of giving up a first round is simply out of the question IMO not going to happen.

And his reported cost of $600k pa would rule out most clubs unless they are prepared to offload some 'expensive' players of their own.Saint Mik wrote:I dont think 1 club will give up a first round pick for any players that have been mentioned so far in this draft.Batnoe wrote:If he can come back to his best he is worth a first rounder, if he doesnt well then it would be a waste

i realise that, but for 2 players that they are wanting a secound round each, would equal 1 first rounder?Saint Mik wrote:I dont think 1 club will give up a first round pick for any players that have been mentioned so far in this draft.Batnoe wrote:If he can come back to his best he is worth a first rounder, if he doesnt well then it would be a waste

Fact is, he is not a lovely kick for goal, and the fact if this mod considers that kicking 24 goals 17 points is average or above average in football and not just mathematically is clearly deluded or has never played the game
Don't roll your eyes at me and as a mod I would think that you are out of line...
Face facts...
Yes, a good pick up, but NOT a goal kicker and NOT a lovely kick for goal and LESS than average kick for goal as for goal kickers in the AFL...

What, in the last 58 minutes the bloke hasn't "come back online to defend himself"
Maybe, just maybe, he doesn't spend every minute online waiting for someone to respond to a post he's put up.
Please tell us your "snap" was just a joke.
