no, he really wouldntralphysaints35 wrote:Could play forward though.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:does not play forwardralphysaints35 wrote:i think he would be a handy inclusion in the forward line.
he is a ruckman
if he was to play any decent time up there he would be run off all the time resulting in the opposition scoring goals on the rebound
he offers us nothing

i think were in with a chance for o keefe which would be awesome , and cousins.
not sure what we would have to give up to get o keefe though. prob be to expensive.
you cannot say we have a chance with someone/something without having a reason or reasons for it

that would be an indictment on the 30 picks before. 30 for seaby is fine. as another thread suggests. there is nothing wrong with second rate ruckman. im happy to get a second rate ruckmen. all you need in the ruck is someone reliable durable and who contests. better of looking for our star power elsewhere.Animal Enclosure wrote:I reiterate... Please do not trade #31 for Seaby!
Mark my words we will be spewing when we've got a 2nd rate ruckman & pick #31 is in the running for the Rising Star.

Have watched a few West Perth games this year & he has been pretty ordinary, but did play well in the prelim & was dominating until he got injured & spent the rest of the game on the bench. Swan Districts then took control & went on to win, but its a big step from wafl to afl.Unless we get him real cheap i wouldnt be interested.

Actually, if you look at his stats he DOES play forward quite alot for West Coast! Kicked 20 goals last year (his best season) as a resting forward pocket.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:does not play forwardralphysaints35 wrote:i think he would be a handy inclusion in the forward line.
he is a ruckman

This report from the 2008 Champion Data prospectus in DAMNING:
"Seaby remains the perfect backup for Dean Cox, not only doing his job in the ruck when given his chances but also pushing forward to bolster the Eagles' attack.
Despite being his side's most-benched player, Seaby made the most of being on the ground by booting 20 goals - the second-most of any AFL Ruckman.
He also took 18 contested marks and averaged 10 disposals, handy numbers for a player coming on and off the interchange.
He won the hitout at 38% of ruck contests last year, which was above average, while his hitout-to-advantage rate remained in the average category".
WE MUST GET THIS MAN! He has so much upside, is experienced, never gets injured and can kick goals up forward. A perfect fit in our 22.

A discard? Seaby is a premiership player. He has been in West Coasts best 22 for 4 years. If we had two quality rucks it would free Kossi to play up forward more.Moccha wrote:Let's get him and all the other discards, trade Kosi, Dal and Xman and then we'll find out how shithouse we really are
He is 24. A great proposition.
