not a scapegoat at all. its not his fault. im just trying to make the point we cant live in the fntasy that kosi is a 2 for 1 .ohwhenthesaints! wrote:I am beginning to think that people are looking for scapegoats for St Kilda's lack of success, else why would certain posters be so specific about particular players?
hes not a ruck (too short) and not a kpp ( not agile enough)
point being we need to draft/recruit from that perspective.
people living in the fantasy that kosi is this ruckman who can go forward ad kick goals are in major fantasy land.
maybe in 1970 (simon madden). but not in 08. hes too short to ruk and cant play anywhere else . he takes a decent pack mark. but pack marks are an ancient part of the game now. get a grip and modernise. kosi = dinosaur.

He will!!!!!

Your on the wrong post!!!!plugger66 wrote:As with any player should look at trading them if you can get a deal in your favour otherwise you keep them or delist if not good enough. Kosi is a good player but he is no Rooy so if we got a trade in our favour it would be criminal not to look at it.

HERE HERE and frankly f*** anyone who thinks differently.
St Kilda boys through and through.
Probably wouldn't have put it quite so eloquently, but I agree wholeheartedly!
Kosi is a Saint and will remain that way until his playing days are over! You don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I believe he will do very well next year. Will be interesting to see who the lynch mob on this forum go after half way through next year and then at the end of next season.......
*might go bump the 'we love Kosi' - feeling mighty happy after reading that*

Kosi cosy in Saints' camp
By Mark Robinson
October 02, 2008 JUSTIN Koschitzke will remain a Saint in 2009 unless the club receives an offer too good to refuse.
And that offer hasn't yet materialised, nor is it likely to during trade week.
Coach Ross Lyon told the 26-year-old late last week that he did not want to trade him, just as teammate Nick Dal Santo was told he was a required player.
The eight-year forward/ruckman, who has two years to run on a three-year deal, has made it known he does not want to leave St Kilda.
Saints chief executive Archie Fraser strongly indicated Koschitzke was staying. "We signed a three-year deal with him and the view is we still see him a part of the structure," Fraser said.
"You never say never because you don't know what's going to come up during trade week, and he's probably been floated around more because of perception than the reality, but he's pretty important part of the group."
As the Saints prepare to analyse the youthful offerings at draft camp, Fraser said the club remained "in the mix" for Ben Cousins, but tipped Collingwood to secure him, and that another Sydney-to-Saints deal - this time involving Ryan O'Keefe - was unlikely.
"I think he's (O'Keefe) looking for a four-year deal. He's 28 this year; we don't have a good history of doing long-term deals," Fraser said.
"We don't even know if he wants to stay in Sydney yet, so I'd have to say no, I can't see us . . . we won't be giving away our early pick and they would want an early pick."
On Cousins, Fraser said: "We certainly think we're in the mix, but I think he will end up at Collingwood because of his relationship with Mick (Malthouse) and I don't think he'll come here unless the Collingwood thing falls apart."
Koschitzke's value to the Saints would increase next year after back-up ruckman Michael Gardiner retires, as anticipated.
Steven King will be offered a new contract, Ben McEvoy is still developing, leaving Koschitzke to be the play as a back up ruckman/forward.
"We're working through a deal with Kingy, he will be here," Fraser said.
The Saints will draft a ruckman among their six picks at the national draft.

There isn't an obvious replacement for Koschitzke. Our ruck stocks are fairly thin and we were blessed with King being able to stand up and play for most of the year. It also looks like M.Gardi is finished, so that only leaves Rix, King, Kosi and young McEvoy. I don't think Kosi's much of a ruckman, but he's what we've got unless you put Rix in front of him.
As I've consistently said, I don't believe that he should be traded. I don't however believe he's untouchable in the way that core players like Roo, Lenny, Chips etc are. If the right trade was offered we should take it.
I've also consistently said that I'm tired of hearing about what Kosi's "gunna do".
I evaluate him on what he's actually delivered and his inconsistent and largely sub-standard contributions, rather than being part of a Kosi can do no wrong love-in where we're all happy to just keep on about how he's just about to really show 'em what he's made of. His major problem IMO is a glaring lack of consistency. He goes missing for weeks on end, then plays a reasonable game and the "Kosi is a gun" clan start proclaiming what a champ he is. He isn't. Struggling to be a GOP at this point in his career and needs to seriously lift his on-field contribution. He himself said at the start of the 2007 season that it was acid time for him to really step up. He's had two full seasons since then and we're still waiting. I couldn't give a toss about how nice a bloke he is. I'm interested in his on-field contribution.
If he does start to deliver consistently, I'll be glad like every other Saints fan. I'd love to see him start to really stamp himself on games. But let's call a spade a spade instead of banging on about what he's "gunna do" and years old memories of what a gun he is.
