i agree with getting 18 year olds as policy, but many on this forum point out a lot of our kids don't like too crash hot.
I don't see a problem, per se, with drafting established players.
This doesn't mean getting 30 years olds either.
I don't see any problem trading picks in a year when EVERYONE else is looking for picks for some 22-23 year olds.
Picks are worth gold in this draft, we should use them to trade for established players, so long as say, we implement a 100-game minimum rule.
Schneider, Dempster worked out for us.

Re: The Shopping List
He has potential Chris, Mick just didn't give him a fair go, because i was talking to Chris yesterdayArmoooo wrote:He's been delisted so if he is worth a go he will go dirt cheap, doubt anyone will take him, including us, from what I've seen he is ok at VFL level but struggles in the big league...SaintBot wrote: Collingwood:
Chris Egan – Pro: Talented, huge potential, has shown signs, medium forward option, cheap – Cons: Poor work rate/attitude, serious failure in career so far

Must confess I still shudder at the scarring memory of Damian Monkhorst dropping uncontested sitters so I'm not big on the older recruits...groupie1 wrote:i agree with getting 18 year olds as policy, but many on this forum point out a lot of our kids don't like too crash hot.

Me too let's keep 13my les foote wrote:My shopping list:
Pick 13, 29, 45, 61, 77
We are paying the price for trading away draft picks over the last few years.
I would like to see at least 5 new 18 year olds at the club next year.
Swap 29 and 45 for Lovett and get back the Bombers third rounder 38
use our pre season pick on Cousins
Use pick 61 on David Johnson from Geelong
So that leaves:
13, 38, 77 and three 18 year old rookies
plus Lovett, Cousins and Johnson
Off the list then is:
Harvey, Gehrig, Rix, L Fisher, Fiora, Ferguson, C Gardiner, Geary or M Gardiner
McQualter & Eddy upgraded
LVR and Attard delisted.
Chivers, Miles & Khan retained

ben johnson is also really slow - no leg speed. apart from that i agree with your post. very good post.

I would be disappointed if we did that deal for Lovett, IMO it is pick 45 for Lovett, or pick 45 and a player who we wont miss eg. Fiora, Rix etc.maverick wrote:Me too let's keep 13my les foote wrote:My shopping list:

But he could be a very handy recruit for us, we still need another tall forward though!!
Also what are people's thoughts on Armitage?
Is he untouchable? He really can't seem to get much of a go with us, and his rumoured attitude problems are of great concern... Any chance of trading him to Brisbane? What do you think we could get for him?
Cheynee Stiller and a 2nd rounder perhaps?
