Gehrig talking about Cousins
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/ ... 42,00.html
Gehrig said he felt Cousins was worthy of a second chance.
"He looks like he's getting his health back on track, and that's the most important thing," he said.
"He is a great athlete, and it wouldn't take him long to get back into the system.
"St Kilda definitely needs a couple of midfielders.
"He is very good with his endurance but also his speed and good delivery.
"The one thing about "Cuzzy", through all the crap he has been through, he is one of the hardest trainers, and we have lost one of the trainers in Harvs (Robert Harvey).
"If we were to pick him up, we would be gaining one of the hardest trainers I have seen. On the field he is a great role model."
Gehrig said Cousins' controversies had tainted him as a disruptive influence.
"Cuzzy is a terrific bloke," he said. "On field, he is one of the best role models you could look up to.
"Obviously he has made a few mistakes, but everyone deserves another crack at it."

If they keep Didak, they won't take on Cousins. They have enough problems down at Collingwood in regard to off field issues and with Burns going, they have no real stand out leaders who would be strong enough to hold the players in check!degruch wrote:With Burns retiring from the Pies, Cousins would be a perfect replacement for him...I reckon we'll miss out.
Anyway, who says Cousins wants to go to Collingwood? He was keen to come to St Kilda at the end of last season. Also,hHe would want to come to a team capable of making it well into September action next year and to be honest, I don't see Collingwood being able to achieve much past the first possibly the second round of the finals with the list they have, even if they did manage to pull a big name or 2 in the draft.
Don't argue with an idiot - people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
Let me guess, Caro wrote the article? We all know how accurate and concise she is!!!! As far as I am concerned, it ain't over until I see him on trade day in front of the cameras wearing the new jumper of the team he is playing in. According to my crystal ball, it is a red, black and white one........doggerel wrote:According to Eddie, that is what they are planning (i.e. Pies want them both).timtam wrote:

Cousins, according to the Age this morning.timtam wrote: Anyway, who says Cousins wants to go to Collingwood?

Wont see him on trade day at all, will have to wait until the PSD to know anything.timtam wrote:Let me guess, Caro wrote the article? We all know how accurate and concise she is!!!! Now that Harvey is gone, I'm absolutely aching to get Cousins in the PSD.
We need him. Big time. I would love to see him come to the club and show Armitage how to train.
Get Kerr, too.
A midfield of Kerr and Cousins would release so much pressure on Hayes, Dal Santo and Ball - enabling them to play peak football.
And stop us relying on the likes of Eddy, Jones and McQualter...
My trade scenario (if the Eagles see any value in Ray):
WCE:
Gain: Ray, Pick 13 & 14
Lose: Kerr
Dogs:
Gain: Kosi
Lose: Ray & Pick 14
St K:
Lose: Kosi + Pick 13
Gain: Kerr
Do it.

I think they'll take two first rounders in this market; throw in Ray - a former pick 4 & WA boy who has showed glimpses - and there's something in it.Richter wrote:Nice try Ev. but Kerr ain't coming to us.
Ray and pick 14 for Kosi? Probably about right.
But the Eagles want two top tenners for Kerr not two late first rounders and a fringe player.
We have to leave nothing in the tank to get Kerr. He is one of the game's top three players - there's a 1/100 chance Pick 14 will be as good and a 10/100 chance Kosi will fufill his talent with us.
Kerr can give us 5 years of sensational footy + 2/3 of solid footy after.
I don't know what price you can put on that.

You might have to keep aching then as the Pies have a pick before us......and Burns has just retired. They were short of good mids before Burns retired...and will be more so now.evertonfc wrote:Now that Harvey is gone, I'm absolutely aching to get Cousins in the PSD.

ouch. that is pretty softmad saint guy wrote:Ray is absolutely hopeless. A softer Aaron Fiora.
And who replaces Kosi?
i like your idea everton. cetainly looks feasible
who replace kosi? well hes not a ruck and hes not a forward. hes too short to ruck and not agile enough to play KPP. so we kind of need 2 people to replace him (or none depending how u look at it)
id be amazed of we got kerr. id love him but WCE wont let him go. i also think pies will have a shot at cuz because of burns going and the malthouse connection and the fact there is a spot for an older guy on their list. they have a young list so could handle cuz for 2 years. would make them real contenders if hes fit.
at this stage ill take cuz and timmy boyle. and pray like hell mcevoy comes through. but we need a decent forward and a decent midfielder pretty badly.
