Player SPONSORSHIP 2009 !!

Post: # 650638Post Eastern »

Well, we need to move on sooner or later. Probably better being sooner rather than later.

I think it was great to be part of the sponsorship of Gilbert & Geary in 2008 and I hope that SAINTSATIONAL is involved in a similar capacity in 2009.

I know we can't do anything until the list is finalized in December, but it's worth thinking about and discussing now.

I'll put my hand up for a similar ammount. Anyone else willing to put their hand up? !!

Approximately how much does it cost to sponser a player?
Does it vary alot between players?

That's ONLY a share. I think it costs around $1,000 or even more. We were only going to sponsor 1 player this year, but the response was such that we ended up sponsoring the 2 !!

I reakon a share is all I can do for now well at least until I get out of school. 2 players good job, they would appreciate the support i'm sure. What exactly do you get from sponsoring a player?

player sponsorship for 2008 was
leadership group 1,900
core group 1,600
development 1,200

SS went one core- Sam Gilbert
one developement- Jarryn Geary

for each player - no matter the level you got
2 ticket best and fairest- value ~500
2 ticket sponsors dinner- value ~ 300
2 ticket match day event - value ~ 300
1 framed player jumper- value 500-700+
access and invitations as reduced rates or regular to game day events and G/F ticket
sponsor recognition

they allowed three sponsors at each level this year
http://www.saints.com.au/Corporate/Play ... fault.aspx

dissappointment was that not all platyers were sponsored.

Yeah it would be better if all players were sponsered. All the stuff you get is pretty good for the price.

I brought a couple of shares last year and was lucky enough to win Geary's signed & framed autographed jumper. A really great job done. His jumper is now happily sitting on our wall. I would encourage everyone to throw a few hard earns in.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

I am fairly new to the forum but myself and 1 other would DEFINITELY be intersted in contributing towards sponsoring a player.

Question though, how do you work out who gets the 2 B&F tickets...... :D :D :D :D

Don't argue with an idiot - people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

I was wrapped getting Gerries signed autographed / framed jumper as a prize. Maybe next year the contributors can win a jumper + the ultimate prize pack including Best & Fairest Tickets.

Me too. I'm in. Loved it!

Now, if I remember, the club has some input into who you get to sponsor... for instance, some players are taken, and they wanted all the money before allocating someone (didn't they?), and so on. So maybe we can't choose who we sponsoring entirely.

Last year, we said we could sponsor some upcoming kids... I don't know if we want to do that every year... pick some young ones who could use a bit of support.

But I am not deeply concerned one way or another.
