wow. never thought id be writting this post. Always thought he would play until the elusive premiership. Was tough to hear the commentators say "the footy gods have teased him". Brought to tears so many times since it happened.
Thanks Harves. Been the one constant and the most fantastic constant anyone could have asked for. You're a true legend. You'll always remain dear to all saints fans alike. The greatest.
We all love you.

Truely inspirational, if only we had more players that would play with the strength,Loyalty, determination & courage that you have for the past 21 years.
Theres not enough words i can say about your career.
the club will never be the same without you.
and i cant figure what it will be like to see the boys run out there, without the presence of number 35.
you have inspired alot of people.
including me, you just never give up.
Thankyou for 21 years of blood sweat and tears.
youl live on as a hero for generations.

Robert Harvey for me is the greatest saint I've ever seen.
Maybe Trevor Barker as well.
Banger and barker I think.
Daylight then.
and its not just about ability/talent, its about being the greatest saint ever.

Who are you to judge?plugger66 wrote:Most disgraceful post tonight and sums up why we may never win the big one.Saint Bev wrote:Beautiful words. In all honesty I am more distressed about Roberts retirement than loseing the game. The post match stuff was heart breaking. Love you to death Harves, the greatest ever.Voyager wrote:Gee, what a night...was great to see the crowd stay to farewell Harvs, not one single Saint supporter moved from their seat at the end of the game...was great to see. I took my eyes off the ball in the last 5 mn of the game to only follow Harvs, to only follow No35. Couldn't believe that this was the last time I/we were watching him on the MCG, couldn't believe it was over. Wet eyes, empty feeling...
Thanks Harvs, We'll be missing you, thanks for everything you've been giving us...We Love You!
We are Saints, We are St Kilda,
Go Saints!
You are a very strange creature

Thanks Robert for your loyalty and idevotion to the St Kilda football club and its supporters for two decades- a feat never liley to be repeated in our life time.
You represent all that is good about being an AFL champion-fair, honest, eyes on the ball at all times, and all through your career it's been less about you and more about the team.
May you now join us on the other side of the fence to see the Saints win that flag one day.

I can sense the Mad Monday call from Maxy tomorrow;
Maxy - "Harves you ready? I'm leaving mine in a few minutes, I'll swing past and grab you on the way to the pub."
Harves - "Nah Maxy you go on ahead, think I'm gonna go for a run first."
Maxy - "Surely ur taking the piss?"
Harves - "Just because I've retired, doesn't mean I'll ever stop working hard."
Maxy - "Sorry mate, my bad. I should've known better."
Harves - "Yes you should, yes you should. Oh and by the way, tell Milney no s*** talking today, he talks to much."
Maxy - "Goes without saying buddy, goes without saying. Cya later on."
Harves - "Later."
