The problem is that both sides arent switched on.SuperSaint wrote:Outclassed. When both sides are both equally switched on, then class wins out and they are significantly more talented. No-one from St.kilda's midfield is able to kick a long pressure goal.
We are being creamed in the middle with Hawthorn doing exactly what Geelong did to us in the Qualifying. That is, applying pressure and providing running players at every contest.
If we dont tighten up in the middle the game will be gone totally.
Yes there has been a few umpiring issues but while, annoying is minor compared to the lack of effort to protect players at clearances.
Pressure is making kicking skills look real bad at times.
Take those opportunities when forward and find someone other than Nick to kick to FFS.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

I like to be optimistic but this time all my optimism is out the window, like in the Cats game. Cream comes to the top in most finals and Hawthorn are a much more talented team when it comes to the crunch.markinUSA wrote:Games not over yet. Even though the score is 71 to 24 at half-time.

The only guys who played anywhere near their usual standard were Fisher, Raph and Joey. Everyone else either can't get a kick or can't hit a target.
Eddy is so far behind the standard required it's not funny. He's getting absolutely monstered by far his bigger Hawthorn opponent (which could be a general reflection on the game).

My heart is in my throat. I'm just trying to send positive thoughts, and not let anything negative flow from me to the boys.
C'mon fellas.
It was one horrendous quarter... we need to turn it around. One kick at a time, one goal at a time.
We can't play that badly again. Our forward line hasn't been working... but if we could get it working, if Roo or Milne could really go on fire, then we could find a way to turn it around.
I do agree, it FEELS over, but we can't go in with that attitude. C'mon boys. Dig deep.
This could be Harves' last game. Let's support the boys 100%, like he's done for us for so long.

Milney's two misses and Kosi's poster were crucial instead of going goal for goal and being about 30 odd each were 3-4 goals behind. A bit of scoreboard pressure would've helped. Pathetic!
Hodge has seriously injured himself. Cracked ribs or something similar. Was spitting up blood at 1/4 time...clear as day on TV. Then hurt himself in going for a spoil....bent over in pain....ribs again...Hayes gave him a friendly bump to let him know he was there and Hodge came straight off. Hodge back on and noone has been anywhere near him...Smash him...he's stuffed....Pathetic!
All over at 1/2 time for mine.
Next year Sainters.....same as every year.

I'll add Max and perhaps Blake, not much else. Even Goddard is down a bit from normal. I am not sure about Joey, there have been times I reckon he has been short of effort at contests. But he has many friends here.mad saint guy wrote:The only guys who played anywhere near their usual standard were Fisher, Raph and Joey. Everyone else either can't get a kick or can't hit a target.

Why is Fiora playing> This was a big risk for a pressure game and was only ever going to work if we easily won the midfield battle. Were not big time.

Why have players fallen or slipped over 6 times in just 5 minutes of play?
One cost a goal, others turnovers that resulted in another goal.
Theres very little pressure if your a~se is on the ground.
