2004 Nick Riewoldt - St Kilda

His kicking was not that much better in 2004 but was obviously good enough for him to win the MVP.

Does anyone know where there is a list of who got how many votes?
Yeah, but who was he up against in 2004?

It's a yearly thing. Obviously this year, there have been better perfomers.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

Chris Judd in his Brownlow year. Judd polled more votes that year than any other player this decade. Chad Cornes, Nigel Lappin, Michael Voss and Warren Tredrea all had big years for GF sides.
Obviously this year, there have been better perfomers.
Most players had done their ballot before we'd reached the top-4. If they had waited until after R22 to do their ballots, Roo might have polled more votes. I'm surprised he polled as few as he did anyway, given he was one of the best performed players in the 2nd half of the H+A season.

OTOH, the fact that Geelong failed to even nominate Jimmy Bartel probably allowed a bunch of players to poll votes that otherwise wouldn't have.

In either case, I'm not sure of the significance of the top-10.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

I think nick approaches the kicks wrong in his mind.

I have noticed a few times this season he has had a simple shot at goal, not much angle and about 40 out and sprays it. Then 10minutes later he is on the boundary 50 out and kicks a goal easy. It wasnt just a once of thing. Maybe his nerves get to him when he is thinking he's expected to kick it. Then when theres not so much expectation he does.
