i think he's saying that a draft pick somewhere up the top 10 will be used in a warnock trade and therefore unable to be used to grab kerr.
maybe a threeway deal might happen involving kerr warnock and a bag of picks.
it'd gonna be a case of domino effect this year.
kerr moves . . . . . then everything falls into place behind it.

its going to cost a high draft pick to get warnock so that would get rid of that specific club getting warnock from the kerr dealRedWhiteBlack wrote:You honestly think Warnock would be selected before Kerr?saintsRrising wrote:Well the good news is for those wanting Kerr...is that will chew up a draft pick....

James Clement went okay too.johnpeterbudgefanclub wrote:McPhee and Medhurst haven't been too bad.....Geezer wrote:how highly do ppl here rate Warnock ?
he's an average tall in an overrated side .
ive noticed that players who look good in the freo system have a hard time elsewhere.
all one way players - and only when they have the ball.
Warnock is supposed to be a very athletic type.
Personally, I think the Freo system somehow shunts a player, rather than enhances them.
At least Harvey is finally turning over the list.

Brodie did better by bringing Sarita Stella to our forethoughts!!johnpeterbudgefanclub wrote:The list turned itself over for him this year so far with 6 retirements.....lol.At least Harvey is finally turning over the list
Brodie Holland was another who was good early on for us.
And yeah how could I forget Clement.....

With GC17 coming in and chewing up valuable early draft pics in the coming seasons I would be very wary of trading away any of our early draft pics over the next few years.
This is what they get.
1. 2009 NAB AFL Draft:
GC17 to have the capacity to sign 12 x 17 year-olds born in the January – April window (Jan-April 1992).
2. 2010 NAB AFL Draft:
GC17 to have Pick One in Each Round.
GC 17 to have Picks 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 in Round One.
3. 2009 NAB Rookie Draft:
GC17 to have Selections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
That's a lot of young talent and early draft picks and we would want to make sure that any draft pics traded by the Saints for recycled players were worth it.
I don't think Warnock is. If we do trade an early draft pick or two then we may find ourselves without any real young talent (or it will be harder to get) in 3-4 years time.

What I don't understand is why the AFL feel the necessity to cram in all the GC's picks in the first round? Why not space some out over the second and third rounds?
If they don't win a premiership after 4-5 years....
In any case, Warnock is pretty average, and I think any deal for him will be conducted outside the possible Kerr deal...

They know they need some established players too...so I'm wondering if they might end up picking some secondhand players with their high draft picks, leaving some good young 'un's for the picking?True Blue Sainter wrote:What I don't understand is why the AFL feel the necessity to cram in all the GC's picks in the first round? Amd it only took about 20 posts.....Thank you plugger, now I kn0ow that there is at least one other on this planet of mine!plugger66 wrote:Going to be a very good player. Fast and has good ball skills for his height. Will end up at Melbourne for a second rounder as Freo know he could go in the PSD and Melbourne would get him for nothing.

Add me to the Warnock Appreciation Society! Whoever gets him will be very fortunate. I'd consider our 2nd round pick... Ross has already said that he will draft another ruckman.Spinner wrote:Amd it only took about 20 posts.....Thank you plugger, now I kn0ow that there is at least one other on this planet of mine!plugger66 wrote:Going to be a very good player.
