Did the chopper bother anyone else?

Post: # 638532Post stkildasaintsdotcom »

Sunday afternoon at the G 7/9/08

I did not notice the helicopter for the first quarter
For the other 3 quarters it was really annoying
A constant loud noise
It was probably the channel 7 chopper
Was it the prevailing wind that made it loud for me?
Or was it the seat I was in?
Did it annoy anyone else at the game, besides the guy sitting behind me who kept screaming to the sky, "Firk off"

what really pissed me off was the crap music that was turned up fairly load over the ground PA.

Why can't we have some silence in between quarters/pre match?

Makes it hard to make phone calls/hear the radio etc.

I can tolerate ads, as it makes money.

The choppers weren't noticeable from where I sat (Level 2).

my niece was annoyed by the chopper-
I haven't watched the replay But was it providing the overhead vision?

Yep, I was cheesed off to the max with it also. I tried to make a bit of a joke on SEN at the end of the game about it, but I don't think they let me get to the punchline     *something about me being a peanut* hehehe

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

They must've been using it to show overhead vision at centre bounces. I was wondering how they were doing it.

Didn't really add that much to to telecast.

Was on the train to the ground with Chopper, well Eric Bana in a St.Kilda scarf. Didn't bother me at all.

I remember Channel 7 (rightly) copped a serve for allowing the chopper to hover pre-match on ANZAC Day in 06'. The moving ceremony and minute of silence were completely ruined. Such poor form!

you can always tell your footy team is having a bad day when the sound of a helicopter noise annoys you. :D

Chopper was very annoying.

Surely it is against aviation regulations to hover a chopper over 60,000 people.

One came down in Queensland last week and nearly took out some boats.

Imagine if it ran out of fuel. It was up there for three hours.

in a word...yes...

but have lived on the gold coast and had to deal with 3 blackhawk helicopters hovering over the indy race all weekend.... and mere meters from high rise buildings

what ever happened to anti terrorism laws and no fly zones over special events....
if it's good enough for beijing then its sure good enough for qualifying finals at the G.
:)

as long as we win though i dont care what hovers overhead.....
:)

Yes very annoying. We scored 3 goals 8 behinds in the final quarter. I reckong that the players were put off by it - we should have kicked 11 straight. Add in the 3 umpire gifted goals to the Cats and that accounts for the 58 point difference betwenn the teams.

hey i agree whole heartedly
That low level bass noise all afternoon drove me crazy.
unfortunately it didnt get quite low enough to decapitate cameron mooney or cartch scartlets hair in the prop.
Still if u can handle seeing cameron lings face on a big screen, u can handle anytthing.
