Blaming umpires or trying to dimish Geelong's performance is a cop out.

We stank.

we gave a yelp for 5 mins and thats as much as we could muster.

Anyone suggesting otherwise is not embracing mediocrity - theyre sleeping with it.

Get real. IF we want that arrogant swager Geelong ahve as a side we better demand it and stop settling for "finals" FFS.

Geelong are oozing talent! We got smashed everywhere!! Their mistakes were quickly made into positives and they acted on those positives.

We just have to keep trying and look to the challenge of taking it up top the Pies...then the Hawks! As daunting as that sounds, there is no holidays in this game! You fall down, you get up and keep chasing the dream!

Can I just say, Kosi should be trade-bait at seasons end. Very disappointed with his effort today....and lately!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Some tried hard, but most didn't try hard enough.

We've all seen our team at full throttle when everyone's having a red hot go and while of course a lot of how this turns out has to do with the opposition, and Geelong outclassed us today, we can be absolutely awesome.

Very disheartening today watching Blakey with the Saints having conceded a free in the members end pocket before half time with his head down, hands on hips, back to play as he wandered towards the goal square while his opponents jumped up and down unmarked awaiting a pass - of course he wasn't alone as this attitude was replicated across the ground from very early on.

Sure they were getting beaten pretty badly but that spririt that the likes of Blake and others showed recently against a Hawks unit that was also all over them is needed on a regular basis and particularly in a final, the Cats kept the door open with woeful kicking and arrogant decision-making, the opportunity was there to make inroads (ala Crows v Roos 98 GF, etc)- hard to move forward when you're not even looking.

Not having a go at Blake alone but this passage was inidicitive of so much that went wrong for the Saints today and so often throughout the season.

It's too easy to sit back here and criticize but the Cats are the benchmark, this game is about premierships and they are relentless in their pursuit with spirit, talent and teamwork in abundance.

Early last year the Cats were given a massive kick up the kyber and told to lift their heads. They had plenty of classy players but also plenty of fringe-type players who are now all legends with a premiership medallion - the Saints have plenty of talent and have shown the spirit and the teamwork, they now desperately need the kick.

They tried hard?? You are kidding me aren't you??

Geelong didn't even turn up after half time and if were dead serious could have won by 15+ goals.

There was no structure, no intensity, terrible disposal, terrible decision making and if your happy with that then you are resigned to mediocracy.

Read the post lovechild 'some' does not refer to all or even many and if you think I sound happy think again. I reckon the Cats should have won by 108 points, no 109 just to have 1 up on us again!

You miss the point. Have another read and pay particular attention to the bit that says...its easy to criticize.

Maybe Lyon's an Ali fan and this is the first four rounds of the old rope-a-dope. Not sure why he let us pull a few goals back at the end?

We played our worst game since collingwood.
The players looked confused by that strange wet stuff that fell out of the sky.
The umps must have watched some old 2005 GT interview as
pre-match motivation.
And roo unfortunately put oil instead of sticky goo on his glove.

From here on in it's harv's last game every game. The players will respond and give their all.
The team will meet an overconfident cats in 3 weeks - it won't rain, the umps will play the game of their lives and not make a mistake, roo will ditch the glove, x and ball will have played into form, and harv's will go out in style!
