Slipping tackles, Bombing the ball to disadvantage, constant fumbling, always not being first to get the ball.. key players not performing up to standard.

The way we played today we will not beat Collingwood. Geelong are so much better than us it isnt funny, incredible talent, instinct, vision..just everything, it really was embarassing

Prolly Harveys final game, this game it was never gonna be his last... so next week the realisation will kick in + the wake up call after today... *fingers crossed....
and we smash the living daylights out of em... oh to beat Collingwood.......

How do we pick up?
1 We maintain pressure at the contest and in the forward area.
2 We protect the players at the fringe of the contest so they dont cough it up under pressure all the time,
3 We talk and run to create space so longer kicking is beneficial
4 Longer kicking to a player means quicker ball movement and the change to centralise the ball before the opposition can flood,
5 Central play generally leads to more goals. Dont always look for the short option deep in thye pockets. This seems to be a standard play at St. Kilda nowadays. This only serves to create poorer scoreboard pressure and creates unnerving player pressure.
6 We need another leading forward around half forward. Nick is great but he is only one bloke. C Gardiner, Goddard, I would even try Fisher as our goal scoring nis our biggest wekness. Leading forwards create opportunity. Geelong has 6 of them at every forward contest .

One difference I noticed was the Cats when having the ball kicked to them to mark were moving towards it while we sit back and wait for the ball to come to us and they just got between us too many times.

On the positive side if we had not given away the frees and actually kicked goals when we had the chance we were still in the game so we can beat them just got to focus!!!
