Actually Geelong did everything humanly possible to keep Nathan Ablett playing AFL footy - in the end he just didn't want to do it. But don't let the facts get in the way of your discredited argument...

Well some at Geelong did, but if the rumours that went around at the time he quit on the first occasion are remotely true, then it would seem that some of his ex-teammates were less than 'charitable' towards him, comment wise.
Hey, but don't let the rumours get in the way of your unbridled love of all things blue & white hooped.
Love it he coaches them to a premiership and 21 wins this year and still feels so insecure that he has to make comments about our list. Is like a little kid our list is better 2003/04 we make our own players 2007.
Very easy to bring your own players through when you have so many good father son picks.
Gary Ablett
Matthew Scarlett
Mark Blake
Tom Hawkins
Rapt that Lyon ignores this rubbish and just concentrates on us.
A champion team will always beat a team of champions.
Saints to want it more on Sunday and Saints to take full advantage of this heavenly double chance.
Saints have a few players like Raph, Gwilt and Kosi to name 3 that can raise their game to personal best status.
THIS IS THE TIME TO DO IT
G O S A I N T S !
The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

If the Sheedy clone wants to play this typically childish game then perhaps someone could raise the stakes and ask about how Ottens became a Geelong player, at what cost, paid to who exactly and in what form?
There is an old saying about people in glass houses.
I think Bomber's statement is conclusive evidence that our recruiting over last year's trade period was OUTSTANDING!!!!
King, Dempster (poor bloke), Schneider & C Gardiner, have all been successful contributors to the teams recent form (8 of 10).
All of the above cost pick 22 & 70 (not used).
In hindsight, i think we can all agree the trades have been a success.
Geelong gave us King (& Gardiner) for nothing...
bit of sour-grapes to now criticise our list management for picking up a premiership ruckmen, captain, and natural-leader.
Not like it's a complete unknown... recent history shows successful trading can bring results (e.g. Sydney 05).
Well done Ross Lyon (& others in recruitment drpt), could have easily gone for kids only last year...
... Truly doubt we would've finished 4th had that of been the case.
Instead, got a great mix of trades, rookies and kids.
Cheers. Go Saints!!!!
PS. I'll be in Level 1, M1 on Sunday, that's our end of ground isn't it?
