So the "outside players" are the reason for our success this year?
I wonder which "other AFL clubs" gave us Steven Milne, Nick Reiwoldt, Lenny Hayes and Robert Harvey?
I love that after a season where they took all before them, lost only one game, are flag favourites and the darling of the football world they are STILL a basket case when it comes to the Saints.

We picked him on the rookie draft a pick or 2 ahead of the bombers.
Who cares what Bomber Thompson says, it is just a dig basically at the fact that we will have 2 Geelong discards in our team on Sunday.
At the end of the day he can shoot he's big mouth off as much as he likes it'll bite him eventually.

Maybe Ross should have mentioned that we haven't been as fortunate as Fishlips to have about five blokes in their best teams from father/son selections.
Take those blokes out & Geelong are quite as shite hot as they think they are.
As much as I hate the Filth & the club from Moronville, I can't wait to see Fishlips' face when the Cats go out in straight sets.

behold the trash talk. seriously, geelong are the best team in the competition yet they've found a way to stir the pot and talk trash about a team they obviously don't rate. listening to various interviews with their players since sunday, they definately believe they are going to win the grand final. and i guess they've earnt that through their work, but they are way too cocky and this proves it.
i really wish lyon had the stones to fire back a shot at geelong. he must be seething on those comments, is coaching style being compared to grant thomas' coaching like that.
damn i hope we win on sunday

"Under Ross, they've got a few guys from other clubs, two from our club, and have done particularly well. It's different philosophies, but we generally like to recruit and develop our own people."
■The AFL career of reluctant Geelong forward Nathan Ablett is over, with the 2007 premiership star keen to pursue a career in the building industry.
Ablett was considering a return to football after resuming training with the club's VFL side in July, but an ankle injury has thwarted his attempt at a comeback. With AAP"
they really nursed and developed natham didn't they......flower them........and we will......

Does that include players wives and girlfriends?Mark Thompson wrote: we generally like to recruit and develop our own people."
DO THE MATHS AND THE SQUARES ARE ALL ROOTED.

As far as i know all players wear our jumper when they play with the Saints. Couldn't give a F*** where they come from.
Who cares what Thompson says. Dont be so precious.
Lance or James??

I don't see why people are so offended. He didn't bag the club, he was probably just responding to a question about the differences in the two teams since 2004.
We would have by far the most recycled players on our list of any club in the AFL (and it has been that way for a long time), while Geelong develop probably 85% of their list from scratch.
I hate Geelong as much as anyone here, but people are getting worked up over nothing.

We've got 10 players on our senior list who have been listed (senior or rookie) at another club and 1 on the rookie list. We also have two players who we have delisted and re-drafted. Then you could also count Milney who was on the supplementary list.n1ck wrote:I reckon Sydney might have a decent crack there msg.
If nothing else, alot of there star players (rather than 2nd tiers) are recycled.
Hall, Everitt, Jolly...
Adding to TTSF's list to include rookies and redrafts
Jason Gram (Brisbane)
Steven King (Geelong)
Fraser Gehrig (WCE/St Kilda)
Adam Schneider (Sydney)
Michael Gardiner (WCE)
Aaron Fiora (Richmond)
Matthew Ferguson (St Kilda)
Shane Birss (W Bulldogs)
Sean Dempster (Sydney)
Charlie Gardiner (Geelong)
Michael Rix (Hawthorn rookie)
Andrew McQualter (St Kilda)*
Jayden Attard (Brisbane)*
Stephen Milne (Ess Supp List)
Sydney do have a fair few with Bolton, Davis, Everitt, Hall, Jolly, Mattner, Playfair and Richards. So this is obviously something Lyon has brought from Sydney.
