Out for 09: Dempster
In for 09: Attard

Did both do thier ACL's in the respective round 22's? Either way both seem to be pretty good defensive players.

Fk, way to ruin my moment, first chance I had to get on the net tonight and this is the first topic I see. :(

Man, he's been better than Schneider for most of the season, massive loss.

Hopefully we can cover for him...

I guess that means hes gone for 09 as well. :(

That's crap news. How much of next year would one normally miss?

Hrm, it will depend how bad he has torn it.

I torn my acl this year (very gay, moderate tear) playing footy, but the doctors basically told me it may or may not hold up, it seems to feel ok, but they'd prefer I do phyio first and go flat out/do whatever I want, rather than operate. If it snaps, well surgery it is, or it may hold up fine and I'll have no problems. Been like 3 months now, still have pain bending it all the way or straightening it all the way, but I guess its coming along, ever so slightly.

I feel sorry for him, I know the darn feeling, but I do wish I was an AFL player, you get looked after, by good doctors, unlike the average joe blow.

I wonder what the chances are to do the Nick Malceski surgery, and use the whole offseason to build back the strength.

Malceski's seems to be holding up quite well and hes playing some good footy.

The first guy to come in for dempster would have to be Matty Ferguson what more does the guy have to do to get noticed i mean he is the back bone of that casey team.
he is a similar player to dempster as well

You have a habit of supporting the sinking ships, but perhaps Ferguson wouldn't be such a bad option.

I think it will come down to direct matchups with their Geelong counterparts.

Its rotten luck...he was playing well.

I hope the give strong consideration to Leigh Fisher. He is not a mid fielder where he was being played when dropped but i feel he is a safer half-back than Gwilt or Raph Clarke who have both been more successful further up the ground.

I'm shattered. Has become one of my favourites with his willingness to run & his quick hands & long kicking into the forward 50. His loss will be bigger than most realise.

All the best Sean, may you have a good recovery.

It's actually a risky procedureand is banned in France, you can recover in three months but if it doesn't take and the knee rejects the synthetic fibre it can take longer than 12 months.

Need to replace the poor bugger with another strong body in the backline, not bring in more medium size midfielders. Maybe LFisher is our best bet as he is a resonable stopper and has a tough body.

I feel sorry for the bloke.

He has been playing so well and I hope he can come back from this as well as Hayes and Goddard from their knee reconstructions.

Do you think that Attard will be still on the list to come in and play this role for us next year ??

If the medico's say he'll make a full recovery, Dempster's injury has just about guaranteed him a certain elevation.

yep would appear so. Attard will suryly be elevated and get a contract for 1 year. If dempster was on a 1 year contract his will be renewed for 1 maybe 2?

Best of Luck.

extremely disapointing for the fella. Think about how he is feeling tonight. I bet a lot of what he is feeling is about the disapointment of playing 21.1 games and not being part of September. He was so close.

The guy is a massive part of our team albeit I believe we can cover him. I thought our club was going to get through the season without a serious knee injury and what makes it worse is he will miss 2009.

The Winners on fox had us down as ' no injuries'
but Llloddy with ahammy

did they forget sean was with us - or because he went at the very start of the game it slipped their mind.

Dempster will be a loss, it will upset the backline ballance somewhat, they have been really working well together the last half of the season.
PS: Where are all the tossers all called him dumpster for most of the year and said all he did was run alongside apponents and wave his arms?????

And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
