Todays Training
Also headed down to training today...arrived early and saw quite a few of the players already out on the ground for a kick and there was a good level of enthusiasm around the place.
Max and Harvey ran laps for awhile, then Harvey signed so many autographs and he must have been with the fans for at least 25 mins.
Ball did not train, but stayed out there awhile and seemed itching to be out there in my humble opinion.
Couldn't see Gehrig playing again as very slow, although he did train the full session.
I couldn't see Milne missing any footy, seemed to be buzzing around the place.
Goddard, Blake, Montagna, Gram, Dal, all seemed to work very hard.
Kosi knee was strapped, but he seemed a lot leaner?
And as per another post, Gwilt seemed to group off with the other goalkickers and looked comfortable.
Ross Lyon (when he finally came onto the ground) was spending a lot of time in what seemed to be a skills session with a few players practicing getting the ball from the centre bounce?
Also saw Nathan Buckley arrive and go inside, guessing it must of been media related?

Thank god someone has some sense.plugger66 wrote:No one is resting this week and neither they should. This isnt local footy. We need to keep winning. G has long retired so how can he play. Steven isnt going to play either and doesnt deserve to.
We've been struggling for consistency all year, finally...we string a few good games together and people want to rest players..

I asked Bally if he would be ready this week, he just shook his head.
Asked X if he would play this week. He pointed at the coaches and said ask them.
He is raring to go and I would think he must play this week.
Kosi looked like someone had shot his dog.
During the warm up he stood apart from the group and looked miserable.
The session was pretty up beat with a lot of talk, but #23 seemed to be just going through the paces. Looked like he couldn't wait to get out of there.
I counted 40 players out of 45.
Absentees: Goose, Attard, Bakes, van Rheenan and Mini (must still be crook).
Roo left the track very early, but I wouldn't read too much into that.

"Kozi trains like he plays" (Aussie Jones recently!)
"Unacceptable for a pro footbller" (me recenly!)
only one excuse IMHO is that he's possibly very down on himself and dissappointed at his level of fitness due to the knee at the buisness end of the season...hopefully that's all it is, and having met him few times up here in the bush I would be surprized if it was nything else but
Now this weeks team: no way RL would consider resting players as I read it
According to the coach we are still striving to play our best footy
We still have to put together 4 quarters of solid intense team footy, and have only this week to find it
X must get a run, ....
so it would be X for an unlucky Eddy for mine only![/b]

I can't really see MG getting a game... has no match fitness under his belt and would be lucky to have played 60 minutes of footy in the last month.ralphysaints35 wrote:hope steven gets his chance. would love to see it though !
Heard MG is getting his chance this week...
id rest a few stars....
Prob X for Eddy?
There the only 2 or 3 changes i would make.
Also a bit 50/50 with X - also needs a bit of match fitness as he didn't play with us on the weekend and birssy got the nod before him on Sunday.
I think everyone will be keen to fight for a spot whether in the Saints or Casey's 1s.... cause as of next week VFL starts finals and the 12/10 rule comes into play meaning a few of the Saint's boys will have to miss out unfortunately.
A lot are playing for a spot... whilst others are playing for their futures.
