No chance in my opinion. He is still one of the better small forwards in the competition.azza12 wrote:What are the chances of milney being on the ST Kilda list at the end of the year?
A lot of the media have said he should go i disagree
I think we should keep him
Yes he misses tackles and sometiimes doesnt apply enough forward pressure but there are several others like this who need to go before Milney.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

But he did foreshadow the club would stick by out-of-form ruckman Michael Gardiner and hot-and-cold goalsneak Stephen Milne.
"We'd like to think Michael Gardiner playing well has got a place on the St Kilda list," he said.
"Milney's kicked 40 goals so it's been a reasonably good year, but he needs some more consistency in the really crunch games.
"We see those guys – historically and even now – as really important parts of our club and important parts of our list, and important parts of us performing this week."

No doubting he has his frustrating deficiencies but thats the lot of a small forward generally.
Its about putting others in the foraward line to balance that out. He kicks 50+ goals a year and is leading our goal kicking.. i think we struggle to kick enough as it is without ditching him too.
The shocking disposal into our forward line is more of a concern. Where have our skills gone?

ifs milnes inconsistant what do you call
rhan hooper
eddie betts
leon davis
leroy jetta
jeff farmer
cyril rioli
travis varcoe
lindsay thomas
matt campbell
austin wonaeamirri
richard tambing
these are just a few names of players who play a similar roll to milne.
they have kicked no where near as many goals as milne.
i am not racist, but if milne was black would we still be so critical?
be happy we have such a player who when gone will be missed, he may have cost us goals during games but he has won us many games of his own boot.
