an ex NM player running the AFL backs down against the filth in a situation that it demands of every other club. Do you really believe they will take on Collingwood over this?

1. How do we know it actually was Shaw driving the car?
2. If it was Shaw, whasy was Didak in teh car allowing him to drive whilst under the influence?
3. Maybe Didak was asleep in the back of the car? He has priors for that.
4. Why doesn't Collingwood name Didak as the other person in the car? Worried about questions like #2 above?
Or worried about what Didak's blood alcohol level was? Afterall isn't he on a 'no-alcohol' final warning contract?

COLLINGWOOD player Heath Shaw says he was drinking with team-mate Alan Didak last night before he was charged with drink driving.
But Shaw says Didak was not in the car with him when he hit a stationary vehicle before blowing almost three times above the legal limit.
Despite the charge, Shaw has escaped suspension from the club and will play this weekend in the crucial clash against St Kilda.
“I’m pretty embarrassed, I’m pretty empty," he said at team training a short time ago.

Interesting that according to a lady on SEN that Didak who had been drinking with Shaw was rung by him post accident with daidak coming and then leaving prior to the cops arriving.
Given Shaw's reported breath reading..what would the odds of Didak being under 0.05 if they were drinking together?

wrote this in another thread on the Sheahan article prior to this "great" news breaking , and as a follow-up to my prediction last night that we will see a massive media beatup this week, as always when the Pies face a crucial match....
Sheahans support of Collingwood is well known and documented over the years This is his opening broadside in the propaganda stakes prior to the monumental match Sat night
No word yet of the big pie media beat up I predicted we will witness this week just a few hours ago last night
I mentioned that historically this is always the case before any very critical game the pies play....their huge supporter base guarantees such a situation increases weekly circulation figures immensely
NOW ...tra la the DRINK DRIVING SHAW SAGA (with possibly Didak involvement)
A NEW TWIST in the drama which will change the whole flavour and hopefully work in our favour with its promise to be very unsettling
For once we are blessed and it could very well help us now by changing the very predictable media Pie pre game beatup to one of humiliation rather than firing them up........ and possibly go a little way toward compensating for our critical loss of Bally
I hope they cop shite all week fron the media .....you beauty!!!!!!
We couldn't have wished for such luck!

who cares, because of the didak part this will linger. Small things can end up turning a up coming matchRedWhiteBlack wrote:Not necessarily.Solar wrote:this could get UGLY
All the Pies have to do is deny/claim ignorance as to who was with Shaw and as long as there is no proof, it won't matter (unfortunately).

When will Football Clubs learn. Always they look at the immediate impact rather than the long term consequences.
Maybe if Collingwood had done something about Millane's drinking and driving he'd be alive today instead of killing himself by driving into a truck?
Maybe if Collingwood had 'reigned in' Didak early then he would have had the decency to tell the police what had happened when he went joyriding last year. If so, then Christopher Hansen would not have been wandering the streets and able to kill an innocent bystander in the city last year.
But no, these 'kids' are not 'role models' when they stuff up! They are only 'role models' when they turn up at Auskick Clinics and School Programs etc.
What type of penalty/disincentive is a $10,000 fine to Heath Shaw?
Lots of maybes but one thing is for sure. Self Interest penalties by CLubs don't seem to be working to stamp out this sort of behaviour..

If it was Gram who it happened to I would want him to play regardless, unless you would agree with that you can't say Shaw should be suspended or else Collingwood have a culture problem...
Having said that though I would love it if Shaw, Didak, Thomas, Cloke, Medhurst and Swan were all suspended

If it was Gram who found himself in similar circumstances then I would expect my Club to suspend him.Armoooo wrote:If it was Gram who it happened to I would want him to play regardless, unless you would agree with that you can't say Shaw should be suspended or else Collingwood have a culture problem...

SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES
This is a Club that has a sordid recent history (last 3-4 years) of repeatedly having players involved in unsavoury off-field incidents.
Last year after teh 'Didak joyride' came to light they publicly mouthed similar platitudes that we heard today from Eddie Everywhere about how it was 'unacceptable' etc and 'we have put him and all players on notice'. 'This s the final warning'.
I'll bet none of us, and the football world in general' understood those public admonishments to only apply to Didak and not the rest of teh Collingwood list?
Today we see what theie truth is!
not pretty eddie...not pretty..............

Surprising amount of anger directed at Heath, and many thinking he should have been suspended
The one clown who decided "whats the big deal hes young and if he'd got home we'd never have heard about it" was shot down in flames in quick time.
Dont think there will be to much supporting cheering for him from their faithful if their fan site is any indication.
