Umpiring laughable

Goddard and Dal Santo and I think it was ball, haven't seen the replay went ballistic on the umpire.
Goddard has form on the umpires, but from what I saw, again he was right.
didn't see what Dal Santo was livid about.
the Ball one tackle in the goal square was an absolute joke.
the Goddard one THAT WASN"T given, he was dumped after the ball, if a saints player did that, instant 50m.
I'd say Goddard is in the umpires bad books for some reason and they are penalising him when he goes near the ball.
Looked good in parts but i can see why he gets frustrated at the BS decisions against him.
at least 3 free or 4 turnovers were caused by the umpires alone.

I know, the way he carries on, who does he think he is, Scott Burns???bigcarl wrote:agree, and it is counterproductive because the umpires start to look for any excuse to ping him.chook23 wrote: his carry on at the moment is bordering on being childish
we should get him off the backline for a while. he's better in a creating role than a negating one anyway

an investigation needs to take place.....because today was extremely obvious.....
It seems to extend to the VFL.....the count Casey against BH was unbelievable....they were openly cheating......Saints players coppin the brunt of it...
What have we done??????

excellent post St Bart.
Another week like this and I'll consider siding with the conspiracy theorists.
At least the free kick count ratio wasn't three to one like last week, but St Kilda's tackling often went unrewarded and penalised.
Great cheer at the ground when Harvs came back on. If that didnt send him the clear message we love him, want him and need him again next year, then nothing will.
Kudos to Fiora for a much improved game today.

i think its human to be harder on the side you dislike the most.....plugger66 wrote:Umpires are cheats.

Cricket now has an international umpires panel why?
Plugger, are/were you an umpire? Granted its not easy lots of grey areas but there are games where bias raises its head (no pun intended).
Do you not notice hometown decisions. Remember the Swans when they 1st went to Sydney? wait for the new sides to hit the field...umpiring toward them will be scary and u know it

Plugger, glad to see you've joined the rest of us and are using the 2 eyes in your head instead of the one you sit on to watch games now.plugger66 wrote:Umpires are cheats.
I'm not sure if it's deliberate cheating or not, (you're in a much better postition to determine that or not given your 'special relationship' with the AFL) but the level of incompetence from professional umpires was simply breathtaking today.
The astounding thing was teh 'incompetence' sseemed to be heavily weighted against one tema over the other.
Mr magic I would give you a hint and read what plugger66 has said in the past 24 hours. Yes I stll umpire my local seconds side in the Ammos because you have to supply umpires. Have done it for 20 years now. I said they cheat what more can I say but I am really confused by your last statement. We played PA at home today.BallBanger wrote:i think its human to be harder on the side you dislike the most.....plugger66 wrote:Umpires are cheats.

You have now explained it all...you're an umpire abused by all and have no footy talent/brains.plugger66 wrote:Yes I stll umpire my local seconds side in the Ammos because you have to supply umpires. OK everyone..calm down calm down lol
OK..I dont conspire to the conspiracy theories. I'm as good as certain that those umps didnt have a pow-wow prior to the game and decide "lets screw St Kilda over". We were second to the ball for the majority of the game and in that scenario you are always gonna give away your share of frees. Ask Richmond last night
However, what was frustrating the hell out of me and everyone else at the ground (well perhaps plygger66 and the Port CS excepted) were the inconsistancies.
OK..we push a bloke in a marking contest? Fair enough Free kick. But why were Saints players allowed to be manhandled, pushed and scragged wqhen we DID get in front.
The 50m penalties. OK, Schneider grabbed the Port guy when he played on..but before the play-on call. I truly hate that rule...the side tacking gets penalised becasue the umps too slow to call PLAY ON!. BLind Freddie could see he was gonna dish it off. The oter 2?? soft as butter. 50m is a huge huge penalty..lets not pay them cos someone was 0.0001sec too late returnign the ball eh?
OK plugger66..honest question. Conspiricies aside, what did you think of the umpiring today? You are always quick to leap to their defence, but 20,000-odd Saints fans were frothing at the mouth about em today. Were you the only one not screaming in frustration?

Are you telling me he wasn't sincere in his comments?
You're not trying to tell me that he was being sarcastic?
Surely not?
Mate I sream every week. Sit next to me and you will hear me. Matter of fact I sit in bay 36 so I am surprised you didnt hear me today. Only one bad 50 metres IMO. BJ gave a free away that wasnt a free and then the trainer ran through the mark but it should not have been 50 as Motlop was not in the act of kicking. Wasnt even facing the goals. Schneider was clearly 50 because he was told to do something and basically did the opposite. Cannot remember the other. The umpiring today was ordinary at best actually about the same as the standard of game.saint66au wrote:OK everyone..calm down calm down lol

Nice article by Ed McGuire in the Sun today about players giving the umps a bit more of a go. Be prepared to be well and truly bent over this Saturday night by the umps even more so than today. Sat calmy amongst the a few Port supporters who knows why they were in the area and they were laughing at the umps and there bias. Says a lot really.

they gave them freekicks when there was none there so many times today! was pathetic, and something needs to be done about this.

just to pull you up on that one but we were in front in contested ball and clearances... to me this means we were either first to the ball or ALOT better at getting the ball once we did arrive. My money is on the former.
s***s me to death, yes some of our skills were down and we were not working for each other as much as the hawks match but to use the "second to the ball"excuse doesn't work this week IMO
